Hi there, working in a tourism industry gives me the opportunity to be involved in so many events all over the state. Here are some of the premier events happening in Sabah for the year 2018!

12th Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival (March 2018)
A much anticipated jazz musical extravaganza that features a line-up of International and Local artists performing together on the same stage. The Jazz Festival is a fundraising event benefiting various charities in the state.

Sabah Fest 2018 (4-6 May 2018)
This prelude to the statewide Harvest Festival celebration is a superbly entertaining cultural extravanganza that incorporates dance, music, fashion, food and more. Sabah Fest presents a wonderful blend of cultural and natural heritage that is richly embedded in folklore and one of Sabah's premiere events.

Tadau Kaamatan 2018 / Harvest Festival (30-31 May 2018)
The month-long Harvest Festival celebration will culminate at Hongkod Koisaan (the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association Centre in Penampang). This annual celebration attracts some 5,000 visitors each year. Join the merriment as local folks sing, dance, eat and play traditional games. The highlight is none other than the final round of the highly anticipated Harvest Beauty Queen pageant – the crowning of this year’s Unduk Ngadau 2018.

Tamu Besar Kota Belud(27-28 October 2018)
The Tamu Besar is the biggest traditional open-air market held in Sabah. Organised annually in Kota Belud, the Tamu Besar is a plethora of smells,sights and sounds as vendors proudly set up their stalls to exhibit and sell a variety of goods, ranging from fresh produce such as the traditional Bajau delicacies, to traditional handicraft like serdang and dastar (traditional handwoven cloth) just to name a few. The main highlights of this event include a buffalo race, the crowning of the Ratu Sarempak (Sarempak Queen) and a colourful parade of horses and Bajau horsemen, known as the 'Cowboys of the East'. This is one tamu not to be missed.
