Music and Me (Part 4 and final)

In 2010, I went to INTI College along with my friend and bandmate, @v1tko, although FlatHead has been disbanded because of our own commitment.

Only 2 of us left, still stick together, studying at the same place to pursue our career. I took a Diploma in Hotel Management, while @v1tko applied for Diploma in Culinary Arts.

This is where we met @darryljonesjr, our lead singer. But we weren't that close at that moment. So time to time, we kept on hanging out. Me and v1tko, when we were bored, we will go to jamm studio with other friends, but Daryl not yet join us for jamming session.

After some time, we 3 became close and always hang out together. In 2011, one fined day, v1tko and daryl went to the Centre Point and they came across this gig event happening in Atrium just below of Palm square. And suddenly they saw a form of 'The Ultimate Band Search' (TUBS). They took the form and decided togive it go. At first they decided to go with 2 piece, but then they changed their mind and I was included.

The name of the band were based on many lists of names they wrote on a piece of paper. And in the end, v1tko came up with @megustaofficial. The name just suddenly pops up in his head, because he saw the name in Facebook, haha.
Since me and v1tko have known well for so long, the chemistry of music between us is well-established already.

So after a long hours of practice in the jamming studio, ideas and sweats, we went to the pre-eliminary stage where 8 bands were participating as well. Before this, we said to ourselves, that we shouldn't hope too much, because what is important that we express our feelings through the music that we play.

And God only knows , we passed the pre-eliminary and went straight into the semi-final and then FINAL! Yes , final! We couldn't believe our mind that this happened. A 3 weeks formed band versus all of the bands that have been together for over 4 years of experienced, and we beat most of them! It's crazy right? Well, I guess this is what @megustaofficial does, we suprise them with our music.

Although we didn't win in the Final, but we landed a single recording in REM STUDIO, which owned by Chris Perreira, and that's the start of our journey. It's been 8 years since @megustaofficial formed.

Unfortunately for me, I have to withdraw from the band because of obligation. It's a heavy burden for me coz I have been with them for quite a long time, but i'm still on the band as a sessionist. Now, with the addition of @arjimi and @eldontang as a lead guitarist and bassist respectively, the band has become more powerful and eccentric than before.

I miss playing with a band, but some things in life, you just have move on. Right now i'm just playing an acoustic guitar regularly as a hobby. So, this is the end of my story with my band, and ultimately ending my goals to go conquering the world with our music. I wish my band the best and never give up no matter the troubles or outcomes that may bring to them in the future.
