TeamGirlPowa would like to welcome you to our very first contest that celebrate's women from ancient history and into the future. This contest will continue until the end of the month in celebration of Women's History Month, and we encourage all genders to participate.

Throughout history women have been at the center of our universe. Women give birth, are caretakers, hold our families together, or become the heart of our community. In modern times, many of us have powerful careers and heavy responsibilities.

As a woman we all overcome many obstacles and refuse to allow our destiny to be dictated to us. As Claudia Edwards, a Fortune 500 leader stated, "Womanhood is something you claim and seize, not something you grow into. It's about seizing the opportunity to realize your potential, striving to be the best, and making sacrifices."

Today, we see many women making a difference on Steemit and therefore, we want to push our potential and create an empowering contest for all to participate. So, without further ado we would like to present the contest.

The contest will start today, March 22, 2018 and end on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 12:01 AM EDT.

Choose One of Two Categories

1. Women In History Essay Rules - Non Fiction Work

• There are two categories to write about for Women in History this will be a Non Fiction piece based on any woman in history.

• Word count will be from 1,500 minimum to 2,500 maximum.

• Unique Content/Topic.

• Depth and Detail/Content.

• Writing Style/Storytelling.

• Creativity and Factual (but not just stating facts.)

• The Historical piece must have THREE sources in your finished work.

• Use the tag #TeamGirlPowa.

• Upvote and Resteem this Post.

• Place a link to your submission in the comment section of this post.

• Plagiarism will not be tolerated and your work will be checked. (For example: do not refer to another blog, Wikipedia, etc., as a source.)

• Video, Photography, and Poetry are not accepted works in this contest.

• Only one submission will be accepted, so if you have written more than one let us know which is your official entry.

2. Futuristic Women Essay Rules - Fiction Work

• Use the Prompt: "Women leading male dominated industry and government."

• The writing work must be in the future, another planet, or an alternate yet futuristic universe.

• Word count will be from 1,500 minimum to 2,500 maximum.

• Unique content/Topic.

• Depth and detail/Scientific accuracy.

• Writing style/Storytelling.

• Use the tag #TeamGirlPowa.

• Upvote and Resteem this Post.

• Place a link to your submission in the comment section of this post.

• Plagiarism will not be tolerated and your work will be checked.

• Video, Photography, and Poetry are not accepted works in this contest.

• Only one submission will be accepted, so if you have written more than one let us know which is your official entry.
