The Santo Niño Parish Youth Apostolate (SNPYA) of Bacolod, Lanao del Norte conducted and facilitated an activity called “Anawim Youth Formation” to some youth parishioners here in the Diocese of Iligan which geared towards greater self-awareness of the participants, integration with others, learn more about their faith and hopefully a personal encounter with their God. Upon doing so, they will discover and know their identity as the chosen people of God. And, part of this formation, is the team building activities which are great for leadership training among the participants.
Here are some of the best team building activities we tried in the youth formation:
- The Spider Web
The spider web is a military-like activity. It is fun and challenging. The participants should crawl in a muddy area until they reach the finish line.
2.The Newspaper Wheel
In this game, the team members should make a wheel out of newspapers which are provided by the facilitators. The members should fit themselves into the newspaper wheel and run it without tearing it apart through the finish line. If so, they should begin again in the starting line. The team members should be careful on running the wheel.
3.The Balloon Walk
As a team, the members should help each other to reach their goal by not dropping the balloon unto the ground through the finish line. They should not also touch the balloon. Violation of rules could make them repeat their track in the beginning. Synchronization and unity are the keys to finish this game.
4.The Pingpong Blow
This is a relay game. It can consists of five or more members depending on how many cups you have. The first player should get a water and pour it to the the first cup with pingpong ball inside it fully. Then, blow the ball until it shoots to the next cup. Apparently, the next player will do the same as what the first player did and so on, until to the last player. If the pingpong ball falls not to the right place, the player should put it back where it came from then blow again until it falls to the next cup. Make sure you have much oxygen stock in your lungs.
5.The Thread and Ball
In this game, the players should take the strings first then take the white ball from the stand and rest the ball in the middle of the strings. And bring the white ball to the finish line without falling unto the ground within the strings. This game is a crucial one, if the ball falls, they will start at the beginning.
These are some fun team building activities you should try. You can try these during occasions such as at the birthday party or in the children's party. Also, adults can try these games as well during your team building outing with your workmates or colleagues.
