You are welcome.

India banned high value banknotes trying to stop Organized Crime. I did not work.

Yes, I heard about it.

I can’t wait for the day when Australia becomes completely cashless though I resent the intrusion of banks into every transaction. These days we’re not forced to pay fees on the slightest movement of money ( well, im not at least), so I suppose it’s the banks’ power I resent the most’.

I’m virtually cashless right now. Small items and payments I know don’t pass through the ‘declared income’ machinery, are my only needs for cash. If and when Apple Pay applies to all banks, I’ll be very happy indeed because my fingerprints activate my phone. How far superior to endless passwords and codes?

Sounds good, you seem to be happy about it. My problem with this, is that banks will be controlling all of your funds, unless they are for example Bitcoin.

Well, there’s a lot of non-bank fintech startups trying to break the back of the bank payment systems… maybe the future is less with the banks than you think!

In 5 years banks will have fired 90% of their personnel and have big problems to survive. https://www.computerworld.com.au/article/641120/cba-cfo-leaves-bank-role-blockchain-firm/

Australia doesn’t have any “black economy” … the GST did away with it - remember?

I know cash is messy - likely plays an essential role in building social and individual immunity - but I’m interested in the way that banks have become woven into each and every transaction in the land.

It gets to looking like privatising the currency - renting it to serve as the medium of exchange in each and every transaction - with a tiny barely noticed tickle on the way through.

I know you digital fellas are understandably entranced by the gadgetry and the undeniable brilliance of it all - but there are some significant issues about who and what directs this software practice down deep… whose interests it serves.

Cash is legal tender, and in my pocket, I control and own it. In a cashless world you will be suspected of sidestepping for your comments on Steemit and they will shut your account. I don't like it.

Yes it will make it much easier to control the peasants if you control all the spending.
Personally I am sick of the free hit this gives the banks. They get our pay before we do and profit from it too. Then they charge us to borrow OUR money.

You don't have to worry. https://www.getpaidinbitcoin.com.au/
