Funny things my students have said

The following is a collection of quotes I've recorded throughout five years of teaching high school students. These tickled my fancy in one way or another. I hope they entertain you!

Year 10 English

When seeing advertisements are you attracted to the product being sold or the images being betrayed?

Me: "Where can we find some print advertisements?"
Student: "Radio?...(awkward silence) Oh, yeah."

Therefore the movie uses the manipulations of media to manipulate us into seeing through the manipulations of media.

Year 8 Religious Instruction

Presenting about the apostle Pauls mission: "To take the gospel to the genitals."

Year 8 English

Me: "Google is the largest search engine on the internet with over 8 billion pages."
Smart arse: "How do you know? Miss, were you up all night counting them or something?"

Year 11 Study of Religion

The bride and groom then recite their vowels

Year 12 Study of Religion

Me: "You mean negative?"
Student: "Oh, yeah."

It's not animated miss, it's cartoon.

For millions of years people have followed the beliefs and teaching of the religious leaders; Jesus Christ and Mohammad. Two separate religion's that have formed over millions of years, both sharing similarities and differences.

Year 11 English
