Lion's Mane Mushroom Tea - First Time Sampling
This morning I decided to try Lion’s Mane Mushroom Elixir by Four Sigmatic, with the intention on studying for the majority of this rainy day. I typically start my morning with some light yoga stretching, then proceed to make myself a cup of coffee and read pages from a book (currently Walden) until my cup empties. I was intending to consume all 3 varieties of mushroom elixirs (Reishi, Chaga, and Lion’s Mane) independently as tea to experience their unique flavors, but this morning I desired to kill 2 birds with one stone and decided to include the powder into my coffee so I could begin consuming it as I was waking up with my book. If I had to rank the taste of this mushroom combined with the coffee, I would rank it below both the Reishi and Chaga teas I’ve tried, however it wasn’t terrible. Before finishing my cup of coffee I began to feel a sensation that was familiar, similar to what I had experienced during my evening with Reishi tea. There was a warm, welcoming, and calming effect felt within my head. As I finished with my cup of coffee, I noticed it was easier for me to block out distractions (background tv noise from another room, traffic from outside the window) and focus on what I was reading. Following my reading session I had a phone conversation with my dad and was able to better formulate complete thoughts within my sentences on the topics we were discussing (we talk about deep philosophies sometimes :P). He informed me that he has (like most people have lately) been feeling under the weather, and I was able to inform him of all the anti-viral/anti-bacterial/immunity benefits from some of the various species of mushrooms I’ve been researching. My mood felt lifted, it seemed like there was less “pause” time while conversing thoughts and ideas, and I felt that my sense of focus was performing well. So after first analyzing what I was feeling, I proceeded to look up all the (potential) benefits of Lion’s Mane. They include:
- Enhances Brain Function by enhancing neurite outgrowth.
- May Protect Against Cancer
- Supports Heart and Circulatory System Health
- Might Improve Digestive Health
- Reduces Inflammation
- Powerful Antioxidant
- Improve Mental Health and Overall Well-Being
- Improves Immune Function
- Might Be Useful for Managing Diabetes
I encourage you all to visit https://draxe.com/lions-mane-mushroom/ to learn more in detail about the benefits listed above. Overall I do highly recommend this mushroom to add to your health supplements. The effects are present and noticeable in a good way. Another source said that this was one of the tastier mushrooms to add with food recipes, often times in seafood. I have recommended this to my grandmother for my grandfather to try, who has been dealing with early signs of dementia (and his loss of memory has become more and more noticeable) so I am excited to see if this will have a positive effect on his mental health. I anticipate exploring this particular mushroom further and excited to realize it’s full potential!
