Only people can pay taxes.

It's been said for decades that it's nonsense to believe that corporations pay taxes. If you own a house, and the government passes a property tax, your house doesn't pay the tax, you pay the tax.

Only people can pay taxes.

So, here's the thing if you still believe that the Citizens United decision should be overturned, and falsely believe that the SCOTUS said that corporations are people -- you're shooting yourself in the foot both ways. If corporations can pay taxes, then corporations are people with a protected right to free speech. If you acknowledge that corporations aren't people, but rather made up of people, then you're acknowledging that it's the people who pay taxes and it's the people who have a right to free speech.
