RE: When Musical Artists and the Blockchain Converge
I put together a business plan for my thesis project when I earned my M.S. in Entertainment Business at Full Sail University in 2011. I had what I thought were some awesome ideas for letting fans have a financial stake in the success of music artists. My law professor said some of my ideas were possibly illegal under SEC laws. After much research and countless headaches, I had to put the ideas on the side burner until I could find a way to do it. My ideas were ahead of their time for the US. Now with cryptocurrency, the blockchain, and app-enabling networks such as Ethereum and EOS, I think I can finally revisit those ideas and perhaps make them a reality.
You should check out the No State Project on LRN.fm - @marcstevens is the host. If someone wants to claim that laws are being broken (particularly in a victimless manner), let them chase their tail proving applicability.
