Local food is an Opportunity

Hi Everyone,

today I bring you the local food from Annapoorneshwari Iyer mess which is located in Vidyaranyapura Bengaluru.

The restaurant/Mess is located on Vidyaranyapura Mainroad before the post office stop.

The Mess serves only Vegetarian food. And the attractive menu has unlimited meals in afternoons.

The mess is closed on Mondays.
All other days they are open for lunch and dinner. On Saturday and Sundays they are also open for morning breakfast.

The place looked well maintained, clean and hygienic.

One strange thing I observed in the restaurant was, they have more God photos than the number of seating chairs for customers 😊 its owners choice.

I was here for afternoon lunch.
The local tradition here they follow is, the food is served on Banana Leaf

one may get the obvious question why is food served in Banana leaf.
This is being followed from thousands of years in India.
The Banana leaf has high antioxidants. When the hot food is served on Banana leaf the food is more benificial.
It is also said that the antioxidants served from banana leaf surface (polyphenols) are good in fighting particular types of cancer.

So let's taste the food here

a tradition again to serve salt first.
Followed by Pickles. Indian Pickles are spicy and red often 😊

Once I completed the all above with two Jolada Rotti, The mess serves unlimited Rice and different sambur rasam and curds.

The Rice you eat is u limited and can be served multiple times.
Hot Rice and Sambur and Ghee is an awesome combination.

Went deep into the taste of food and forgot to take pictures os rice and rasam and curd.

This was a short review but loved the food. The Mess is targeting the daily workers who would like to have a food similar to home made and unlimited. no much of fancy menu's but authentic and hygienic food.
