Fish in Mongolian Style Cooking
Hello Tasteemians! I felt so lucky to plan a breakfast meeting with my Steemian friends, @joefubuzerofive and his wife. We had our meeting at Golden Kitchen Seafood Restaurant. It is about 10 minutes (drive) from the city, an area called Market 88. The restaurant location is very strategic because it is at a corner and very spacious.
The yellow colour furnitures that depicted "golden kitchen" complimented the overall outlook. We felt comfortable and congenial, more so after we saw a delightful aquarium in the restaurant.
As we sat down, the owner. Mr. Chung gave us great introduction to his food there. He is also @joefubuzerofive's friend. He recommended fish belly cooked in Mongolian Style sauce, to be eaten with a type of carbohydrate staple food, we chose soy sauce noodles (konlau mee).
Deep Fried Fish in Mongolian Style sauce
The dish was fantastic. Fish belly was fillet-ed and then deep fried to crisps. Then, Mongolian Style sauce was cooked with generous amount of garlic, onions, both thick and light soy sauce and sugar!
The fish belly had some bones, inevitable. We just had to be more careful.
The fish belly was fresh and crispy. When I put it my mouth, I could taste all flavors - sweet, sour, greeny, salty, bitter and tangy. The colour looked like "sweet and sour sauce" but this was darker.
The heaviness of the gravy was to mix with rice, noodle or other staple food. We chose noodles tossed with sesame oil and soya sauce.
Eating them gether was cheerful and delicious. The fish belly with the sauce together with some strings of noodles - was the best fish dish I've ever eaten. Next to my mom's cooking of fish and culinary skills.
The Shop
Corner Shop - with two open entrances.
Pictures on the wall will definitely help in customer's wants, and they actually make me want to come here more often and order different foods every day!
What a great list of dishes they can serve. Yummy!
