Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Aceh District, said the victim of an explosion of illegal oil wells in Pasir Putih Village, Rantau Peureulak Sub-district, East Aceh District became 23 people.

One last victim, Halimah, a resident of Bhom Lama village, Rantau Peureulak sub-district, East Aceh, died in care at Zubir Mahmud General Hospital, Idi, East Aceh.

"Yesterday died one more person. So the total who died to this day 23 people. A total of 35 injured are still being treated intensively, out of the 35, only two outpatients two or three days to the hospital, "said Head of BPBD Kabupaten Aceh Timur, Syahriza, Sunday (6/5/2018).

Dia menyebutkan, seluruh biaya pengobatan korban ditanggung oleh program Jaminan Kesehatan Aceh (JKA) dan BPJS Kesehatan.

“Misalnya begini, ada yang tidak ter-cover oleh layanan BPJS, kita gunakan layanan kesehatan warga, di Aceh namanya JKA. Ini tercover semua kebutuhan pengobatan untuk korban ditanggung pemerintah,” sebutnya.

Selain itu, korban luka-luka tersebar di Rumah Sakit Zainal Abidin Banda Aceh, Rumah Sakit Adam Malik Medan, dan Rumah Sakit Umum Zubir Mahmud, Aceh Timur.
