This post is to serve as a published reference for the @tagalong project concerning how and what we classify as 'mis-tagged' content. Below you will find guidelines for each tag we currently curate and the date they were last updated. If you believe any of these to be inaccurate, please appeal them on our Discord server.


#fiction

  • A work of original story content that has never happened and is not true.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#art

  • A work of original art, including but not limited to digital art such as drawing, painting or graphic design, traditional art such as painting, drawing or sculpting, writing, photography, and music.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#life

  • Original content directly relating to the life of the author.
  • Original content responding to news or circumstances that others have experienced.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#photography

  • Original photography, taken with a camera.
  • Original articles about the subject of photography.
  • Not: Screenshots, memes, or plagiarized photos.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#writing

  • Long-form original content such as articles, stories (fiction/non-fiction) or blogging.
  • Original poetry.
  • Not: Posts with less than 150 words. Shared articles. Exceptions, 50 & 100 word story contests.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#health

  • Content concerning health and wellness, including medicinal, exercise or dieting.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#news

  • Content concerning world or topical news.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#steemit

  • Content concerning Steemit, Steem Inc. or anything about the platform.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#steem

  • Content concerning the crypto-currency Steem.
  • Last updated on 10/27/2018

#witness

  • Original content concerning witnessing or suggested improvements to the Steem blockchain.

Tagalong's Definition of Plagiarism According to Merriam-Webster

the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.

All content not publicly licensed must be original or otherwise either shared with permission or decline payout. Monetization of copyrighted content is illegal and violates Steemit's Terms of Service. As such, @tagalong reserves the right to flag with full weight any plagiarized or copyrighted content that is found during the course of normal curation efforts.
