Secured the highest ever K-12 public school funding, with $22.5 billion in state and local funding, including $100 million for mental health initiatives.

2/ Teacher Pay Raises

He championed and secured $500 million to raise the minimum teacher salary and provide raises for veteran teachers and other instructional personnel.

This boosted Florida to top five in the nation for starting teacher pay.
3/ Expansion of School Choice

Increased the enrollment of the Family Empowerment Scholarship by nearly 30,000 students.

He also secured an increase of $42 million for a total of nearly $190 million in funding for the Gardiner Scholarship, clearing the scholarship waitlist.
4/ Elimination of Common Core

DeSantis eliminated Common Core and replaced it with Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards (Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking).
5/ Protecting Water

DeSantis secured over $500 million for the protection of water resources. Totals include: $322 million for Everglades restoration, $50 million for springs restoration, $160 million for water quality improvements, and $40 million for water supply.

6/ Death Penalty

He called for legislators to amend the state's capital punishment laws from requiring a unanimous jury to put a convicted criminal to death.

After this, he signed a bill into law that made it so you only need eight to convinct, not twelve.
7/ Death Penalty Continued

DeSantis also signed a bill that expands the death penalty to include those who commit sexual battery against children under the age of 12.
