A series of spy shots show what could likely be the 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor. The photographs were taken in Michigan and show a pickup truck covered in a black and camouflage material often used to hide details of prototype vehicles.IMG_4305.JPG
The spy photographs of the Ford Ranger Raptor were taken while the off-road midsize truck was being tested on a track near Ford's Dearborn, Mich. headquarters. The most noticeable thing with the alleged Ford Ranger Raptor is its aggressive front end. Despite being covered, the grille of the Ford Ranger Raptor is noticeably more aggressive than other 2019 Ford Ranger prototypes. The front end of the truck also resembles that of the Ford F-150 Raptor.

Based on the spy shots, the Ford Ranger Raptor also sports wider fender flares. MSN noted that the aggressive fender flares hide the Raptor's broader stance and increased track. The Ranger Raptor also comes with tires that seem taller than the 31s used by the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.
The mid-size Ford Ranger Raptor in the spy shots appear to be right-hand drive, as noted by Autoblog. Other than that, there is little else that can be known about the Ford Ranger Raptor based on the spy shots alone.

One can speculate, however, that the Ranger Raptor will probably have a horsepower of more than 325 and a 375 pound-feet of torque. It is also possible that Ford will equip the 2020 Ranger Raptor with the new diesel Power Strike V6 engine which will come with the upcoming Ford F-150.

MSN also noted that the Raptor name will likely be replaced as it is not the official name of the Ford Ranger. The Ford Ranger Raptor or whatever it will be called is expected to be released in North America in 2019. It will directly compete with the said Colorado ZR2 and the Toyota Tacoma TRD.
