The first game in GammaSlayers
On Saturday, finally managed to try a new game for themselves, namely Gammaslayers. This is a hack game Dungeonslayers 4 edition, where instead of traveling in a fantasy world, players travel around the local radioactive wasteland. The book with the rules takes 230 pages, on these pages, in addition to the rules, there is also a very extensive restauration and a brief description of the setting. In this setting, a lot of things are mixed, I think fans of post-apocalypse will be able to find something interesting for themselves. Also in the book there are tables for sketching ideas for adventures and tables for determining loot with dead enemies. I like when there are a lot of random tables in games.
Now about the mechanics. In this game it is very simple and tied only on the d20 roll. Each character has 3 attributes: Constitution, Dexterity, Mind, and 6 properties Strength, Fortitude, Mobility, Coordination, Intelligence and Aura. When you need to pass a test, the leader tells you what is used by the Attribute and which Property, their values are added and the player needs to be thrown out less or equal to this value (and the higher the dropped value on the cube, the better, but so far it is less complex). Here there is a crit success and a steep dip at 1 and 20 respectively. There are sitouts when you need to pass the test, and the difficulty of the cast is higher than 20, in these cases there are 2 options, or a rough estimate then d20 is simply thrown and the test is not successful only at 20, or for a precise result, several shots, for example, 24, then 1 roll will be against 20, and the second against 4, the sum of all successes is added and the value of the throw is obtained.
Boevka in this system is also very simple. The attacker throws his attack, he as well as in all the test must throw less or equal to his attack, with success he gets. The defender throws down his defense, with success from the result of the attack, the result of the defense is subtracted and this will be the damage that the character will receive, in the failure of the defense, the character simply gets all the damage.
As shown by the game meeting, the metering is very high here, especially if very savory opponents come across.
The very system of class, where each class has its own characteristics and advantages, so there are talents available only to certain classes, but there are also common ones. There are also different races including the Hulk (who need to use the DNA of living beings to stabilize their DNA in this way).
In the game, I liked that because of being in places with high radiation, you can get a large dose of radiation and because of this mutate. And the characters can mutate a certain number of times or one time to get a very large dose of radiation and turn into a terrible creature that is no longer a game character.
The first game I liked, now I want to try to play this game and see in more detail how it will be, especially for the campaign. The game of course is more of a danzhencroul, where the dungeon can be anything from bunkers to ruins in cities.
So far after the game is very positive feelings. Many thanks to the man who made the translation and put it openly officially with the permission of the author.
The only problem that I faced is the lack of adventure, when I want to try the game it's easier to do this with already ready adventures and see how the adventures on this system should work. The most offensive is that the book often mentions that there must be a campaign for the game, of course it should be in German, but I could not find it at all. Only small adventures on the official website of the game. If someone needs a translation of the adventure, then I can share it, although he certainly is far from ideal and needed me just to play the game.
My players seem to like the game, too, since I played the game on the Toy Library among people who were not very familiar to me, then to understand how much they really liked everything or not. They said that it was interesting, but they could not get any more out of the players.
Now there is a desire to try out another game that was translated from the German language, namely HeXXen, but for the game, too, there is no translated adventure, so first you have to blunder with the translation of the adventure into Russian.
Thank you all for your attention.
