1st Costa rica trip - Santa Teresa - Montezuma.
Costa Rica is a tiny country as big as three French departments and yet so rich in wildlife and incredible flora.
There is a bit of everything in Costa Rica. Beautiful beaches on north pacific cost (with palm trees, white sand and of course the sun), impressive nature, and this Central American culture that never ceases to amaze you.
Santa Teresa is a small surfing village lost at the end of the Nicoya Peninsula.( North pacific cost )
After a few kilometers of trails, and following from where you arrive a ferry, you are in the descent that leads to the entrance of Santa Teresa.
Santa Teresa is a small village that mainly lives on tourism and which is composed of a central street (where all the shops and accommodations are) and the beach. A long white sand beach, bounded at low tide by rocky areas that has high tide give the quality of the waves.
Montezuma is a small village far from everything, located in a beautiful setting, founded by Italians who still have a good part. There is a casual atmosphere and pizza odors!
We will first refresh ourselves at the beautiful waterfall that is a little inland. The car park where we leave the car is guarded by an old man with parchment skin who brings the nearby iguanas to him. In five minutes he is surrounded, for his pleasure and for ours.
The waterfall is not far away, it is reached in less than half an hour by walking up the river in the middle of the rainforest, whence from time to time disturbing noises, the raucous cries that Grow the howler monkeys. It is a majestic fall that flows into a pool of dark and cool waters where it is good to bathe.
As we visit, we find a tiny white sand beach stuck between two rocky areas, about one kilometer west of Montezuma. It's very beautiful. The water is transparent, the visibility excellent. A place to recommend warmly!
