Visiting a Swiss bunker
Since 2nd world war and until the end of the cold war, Switzerland built around 20000 bunkers. A few thousands from this number are huge underground fortress equipped with up to 15cm artillery guns.
Today, it was possible to visit an undergeound command center somwhere in Canton Bern.
The goal of the bunker was to host commands for a nearby military airport as well as communication.
The bunker is well hidden in the field. You can only notice the chimneys used for the ventilation system
The construction is typical from the 70's with pre-built standarsized concrete elements. This bunker counts 7 different areas, moslty living facilities, communication amd command rooms and power generation.
