Steemit Vision Quest #12 - Sometimes You Have To Howl At The Moon! by @fishyculture

With her re-imagining of the Leonard Cohen song, "Hallelujah", @fishyculture gives the classic melody a new set of words. Through her song, we find ourselves taken to a family reunion, where we remember the yesterdays and the childish ways, and we end the night with a howl at the moon.

With this song, @fishyculture shares her wonderful voice, as well as her very intelligent mind. And what fun it is to witness her wordplay shining so brightly–this is one stellar work of artistry.

Steemit Vision Quest - Week 12: “Howllelujah” God is everywhere. (Darkening #2 - Hallelujah) by @danig

This entry by SVQ newcomer, @danig, is fantastic! This second reference to Leonard Cohen's song, "Hallelujah," shows the song's popularity. We all recognize the beauty in this beloved tune, and @danig brings the the melody to brand new places.

We appreciate the information @danig shares here too, from the music theory video to the sheet music. We like the way he thinks, writes, and leads us on a journey into inner-workings of the "Hallelujah" song in all its glory, with his own unique twist. We also appreciate his interpretation of the Week 12 theme:

To me, "Howllelujah" is a pun, the combination between the words Howl and "Hallelujah". Hallelujah comes from the hebrew הַלְלוּיָהּ and basically means "praise". And who are we usually praising? Well God of course. God is the reason of praise, of gratitude, of Howl. The Hallelujah is the howl that we have for God, as wolfs to the moon we howl to God and we praise him beacuse he is great and he glorifies us, he gives us and takes away and above all, he teach us.

Steemit Vision Quest - Week 12: “Howllelujah” by @trucklife-family

We're happy to see another entry by @trucklife-family, whose poetry continues to strum the heartstrings. We applaud her for running with this "Howllelujah" expression, seeing it as a "return to the earth."

Excerpt:

It is following the rhythm of the moon
opening ourselves up and allowing ourselves
to feel and be part of nature again.

We also appreciate her way of articulating this vision she's seeing:

I see a move beyond material possessions, away from this culture of wanting more.
I see a return to the wilderness, a return to our roots to our anchor. My higher self sees that in order to move forward we must embrace our past and let go of our present lives.We must surrender to the call of the wild.
I have tasted this wild in my childhood and when I birthed my children. It is raw and so endearing and I hear it calling me from afar.
HOWLLELUJAH

Regarding @trucklife-family's idea of returning to our roots, we are seeing it too: With our roots planted firm in the dirt, we open our petals to the heavens, bathing in the light the purifies, bringing that energy inward.

“Coyote Howllelujah” Herbal Infusion - Folk Medicine for Steemit Vision Quest by @cabelindsay

My entry in this week's Vision Quest is an herbal infusion. This folk medicine is designed to combat the common cold. This was my first time making a medicine like this, although I've brewed plenty of potent ginger teas before. I learned that an "infusion" is a potent tea, created by brewing herbs through a long steeping process. I did my best to make this elixir nice and spicy, so it really warms us up on the inside. Ow-ow-o-woo!

The folk medicine you see here is a home remedy for the common cold, which I'm calling "Coyote Howllelujah."
