"Somebody should do something!"... Be 'somebody'.
Whether it is climate change, environmental pollution, homelessness, poverty, social isolation, loss of biodiversity or one of the many other pressing issues we face in modern society, it is likely that any real, positive change will not come from the top down but from the grassroots up.
If we wait for the permission or support of politicians, councils, big businesses, educators & "the rest of society" to start the ball rolling it's likely that nothing will ever change.
The mantra 'Be the change you wish to see in the world' becomes more and more pertinent & urgent every day.
If you have ever thought that "Somebody should do something" about a problem that you see in your community or environment, now is the time to realise that YOU are 'somebody'.
You can fix things, grow things, join things, cook things, donate things, make things and be part of the things that you want to happen.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has" (Margaret Meade)
Don't wait for someone else to start the revolution...

Also, you'll want to look into the following folks for permaculturey stuff:
@riverflows, @rawutah, @goldenoakfarm, @buckaroo, @craigcryptoking, @lucas.iao, @freedompoint, @mariannewest, @papa-pepper, @mountainjewel, @makinstuff, @sagescrub, and @gardeningchannel.
Seems like a lot right now, but once you get the hang of things around here it'll barely scratch the surface.
Down the road, some services on steem that'll really help your experience are @ginabot, a steem notification service on discord, @steembasicincome, a share-based lifetime upvote service, and @dustsweeper, an upvote service that'll help make sure you don't miss out on low-income comments.
Hope this helps! I look forward to seeing more from you as you get the hang of it. Hang in there. It's kinda a lot to learn at the start, but you'll figure it out :) you're in the right spot!
Thanks for the links, tips and encouragement.
I've followed some of those you've mentioned and will look into the services and see if I can wrap my head around them. It's like a different language and I have never been very good at those 😄
You'll get the hang of it. Always something to learn, and we're all new here.
Just start with sending love and hope to all your friends and yourself. Fight what you wanna be in life, 'cause always keep in mind that you only live once in this body, in this time :)
Thanks for your support @miguelr. 😊
"Get the government to do it" always sounds like an easy answer, but it's not a real solution, and the harm inflicted by such schemes always outweighs the intended good.
You would fit right in over at the Global Homesteading Collective discord channel! Plenty of anarchists, and lots of folks hell-bent on living sustainably :) Come on over! We're actually hosting an engagement competition right now!

That's the invite link to our discord server, head on over, we'd be glad to have you!
Thanks for that link. I joined Discord but then it told me there was some error with the link. Will have to try again in a bit when I've had another cuppa and got my brain in straight 😁
More cuppas!
I thought I saw you there though?
