What does the bible say about sustainability?

I am not a religious person however the bible is a deeply fascinating book for me. According to my opinion, almost every aspect in our life is covered in its content.
In this post I would like to discuss one issue as an example, "sustainability".

The Bible recognizes human as a unique and supposedly superior to nature, this is reflected in the command: "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." (Genesis, 1:26-31).
God invites man to explore the world and discover the secrets of wisdom and conquer it. However in these conquests, man should not forget nature and the environment.

Forgetting this will lead to adverse consequences because of the centrality of human nature. ancient wisdom, from biblical sources offer another model concerning the balance between these extremes : while the human should take over the world as cited above, yet also he has the responsibility to keep world perfection : "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it" (Genesis 2:15).

It means on one hand ,God encourages man to conquer the world ,but on the other hand, he warns him against the dangers ruling without limitations, thus accordingly, man must restrain himself, as the wisest man who ever lived, king Salomon said: “Consider the work of God: for who can make [that] straight, which he hath made crooked?” (Ecclesiastes 7:13)

A practical example comes from the rules during war: “When you lay siege to a city for a long time, fighting against it to capture it, do not destroy its trees by putting an ax to them, because you can eat their fruit. Do not cut them down. Are the trees people, that you should besiege them?[a] 20 However, you may cut down trees that you know are not fruit trees and use them to build siege works until the city at war with you falls.(Deuteronomy 20:19-20)

A lot of cleverness in this ancient book also rules for sustainability, isn't it amazing?
To summarize, in one final sentence or in an almost mathematical equation: Human existence on earth is equal to world sustainability!
