Hi everyone. I'm really apologize. I forgot to mention another kind of candle carving in Ubon Ratchathani. Okay, today I'm talk about another one kind of candle carving.

Than 100 years ago, Ubon Ratchathani has never been a tradition of candle parade. We have a tradition merit of "firework rocket". But because of the merit of "firework rocket", there are many events going to happen so that people died every time on event. The merit of "firework rocket" has been cancelled by the Governor on that time, and the merit of "firework rocket" was changed to a tradition of candle parade.

Until 2500 BE (1957 AD). We have organized "Semi of Phuthotkan (A half of Buddhism)" throughout Thailand. (The Thai Buddhist people believed that the "Buddha" was predicted to "Buddhism" will be 5000 years old. And will have a new religion to take place instead.)

At that time the tradition of religious traditions is very booming. The candle Parade of Ubon Ratchathani has been encouraged to big organize. There are both a parade and a beautiful girl like a fairy for the candle parade.

In 2502 BE, a senior skilled craftsman has thought and carved the candle statue without the need to type flowers, like the old versions. The candle statue in that year. It is very exotic and very beautiful. So, in the later years until now. The "Candle festival" has been held every year.

The creation this class of candle statue, the craftsman does not require much craftsmanship, but it is important to understand in to the thai patterns and thier use many people for stencil the candle patterns.

This is a yellow candle or wax come up with a rough sculpture. Then bring the molten white candles to the mold. After that they are di-cut the white candles out of the mould. In this step, they must take a lot of people, villagers, and tourists can stencil at this step. The craftsman will bring the white candles that cut the edges and stick onto the rough sculpture, and be decorated to beautiful.

Look it's easy, but they take a long time to work than a months to get a very beautiful candle statue.

สวัสดีครับผม ต้องขออภัยด้วยจริงๆ ผมลืมเล่าถึงการแกะสลักเทียนอีกแบบหนึ่งที่จังหวัดอุบลราชธานีเลยครับ ฮ่าๆๆๆๆๆๆๆ เอาล่ะวันนี้ผมจเล่าถึงต้นเทียนอีกรูปแบบดีกว่า อิอิอิอิ

กว่า 100 ปีแล้ว อุบลราชธานีไม่เคยมีประเพณีแห่เทียนเข้าพรรษามาก่อน เรามีแต่ประเพณี "บุญบั้งไฟ" แต่เนื่องจากว่า "บุญบั้งไฟ" นั้น มันมีเหตุการณ์หลายอย่างเกิดขึ้น ในทุกครั้งที่จัดงาน จะมีคนเสียชีวิตมาก "งานบุญบั้งไฟ" ก็เลยได้ถูกยกเลิกไปโดยผู้สำเร็จราชการสมัยนั้น และเปลี่ยนเป็นประเพณีแห่เทียนเข้าพรรษาแทน

จนถึงปี พ.ศ. 2500 (ผมยังไม่เกิดเลย ^^) ประเทศไทยของเราได้จัดงาน "กึ่งพุทธกาล" ขึ้นทั่วประเทศ ในเวลานั้นประเพณีของทางศาสนากำลังเฟื่องฟูมากซะด้วยซิ งานแห่เทียนของอุบลราชธานีได้รับการสนับสนุน ให้มีการจัดงานที่ใหญ่โต มีทั้งขบวนแห่และสาวสวยที่งดงามนั่งบนรถแห่เทียนด้วย

ต่อมา ในปี พ.ศ. 2502 ช่างฝีมือระดับอาวุโสได้คิดกรรมวิธีแปลกใหม่ขึ้น และแกะสลักลวดลายลงบนต้นเทียนโดยไม่ได้จัดดอกไม้ใส่ราชรถ เหมือนดั่งช่างรุ่นเก่าๆ ต้นเทียนในปีนั้น มันเป็นที่แปลกตา แปลกใหม่และสวยงามมาก จากนั้นจนมาถึงตอนนี้ "ประเพณีแห่เทียน" จึงมีการจัดขึ้นทุกๆ ปี

นี่คือประวัติคร่าวๆ ของ "งานแห่เทียน" ที่อุบลราชธานี

ซึ่งก่อนหน้านี้เรามีเพียง "ต้นเทียนแกะสลัก" เท่านั้น ต่อมาเรามี "ต้นเทียนแบบติดพิมพ์"

การทำต้นเทียนแบบนี้ช่างฝีมือไม่จำเป็นต้องมีฝีมือในการแกะสลักมาก แต่ช่างฝีมือจักต้องเข้าใจในรูปแบบของลายไทยและต้องใช้คนมากเพื่อช่วยฉลุเทียนออกจากแม่พิมพ์

ช่างฝีมือจะนำเทียนสีเหลืองมาขึ้นรูป แบบหยาบๆ จากนั้นเขาจะนำเทียนขาวไปหลอมเหลวและเทลงบนแม่พิมพ์ จากนั้นทุกๆ คน รวมไปถึงชาวบ้านและนักท่องเที่ยวที่มาชม สามารถลงไม้ลงมือช่วยช่างฉลุเทียนขาวออกจากแม่พิมพ์ได้ เป็นเรื่องสนุกของนักท่องเที่ยวมากเลย อิอิอิอิ

ดูเหมือนมันจะง่ายนะ แต่พวกเขาต้องใช้เวลาในการทำงานมากกว่าหนึ่งเดือน เพื่อที่จะให้ได้ซึ่ง ต้นเทียนที่สวยงาม ^^
