SCM is all about planning and management of all stages that are involved directly or indirectly in fulfilling customer request. It includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third party service providers and customers. It integrates SUPPLY and DEMAND management within and across companies.
The scope of SCM is to add value to the business by the best utilization of assets and successfully reducing the supply chain cost. Best utilization of Money and Opportunity is the primary focus of SCM.
