Chaga Mushroom Inonotus obliquus a Real Superfood

I first learned about Chaga from my friend Adele from Sweden. He told me that it was great for energy and that it had really high levels of antioxidantes. So when I went to an organic food fair in Barcelona called BioCultura I picked some up from a company called El Mundo Arco Iris.

The doses is really low one to two teaspoons simmered in water for 20' and then drink it. The taste is somewhat woodsy and not so much like a mushroom, this can be attributed to it growing as a parasite on Birch and other trees.

You might be asking well what are the effects? I would say it is an adaptogen, which is a food or herb that supports your overall system like Ginseng, Maca, Rhodiola, etc. This adaptogenic effect helps fight stress, calm the mind and provides positive non jittery energy and after taking it for a week or two a rise in libido will be noted. Oh and don't drink it late in the afternoon or at night. It also has anti viral properties which are great for when the kids go back to school and you need to maintain performance and you can't be slowed down by all the viruses that go through your house. The only contradiction I have found is that people with IBS or other stomach issues, should go very slow if they want to try it as it does increase the movement of the bowels.

In summary Chaga is a great way to supplement your diet for health and energy that doesn't have the negative effects of stimulants like caffeine.
