super blue blood moon in indonesia
Why is the name so complicated?
Named 'super blue blood moon' because the event is a combination of three moon phenomena at once.
'Supermoon' because the Moon will be at its closest distance to Earth (perigee), so it looks 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual. The 'blue moon' is the nickname for the full moon that appears the second time in a calendar month.
When and where does this phenomenon be observed?
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (Lapan), the lunar eclipse will start at 18:48 pm and reach its peak at 20:30 pm. The eclipse is estimated to last about four hours.
This phenomenon can be observed in all parts of Indonesia, and most of the earth's surface.
Communities in eastern Java Island, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, Papua and beyond can witness the whole stage of the eclipse; while the rest see only the total and partial phases only. While those in South America and Africa can not see it at all.
