Announcing Super 8 Ball Club V_1.0.2 - 4 New Features & 2 Bug Fixes (Update the app now!)

I'm so much glad to announce that I've released Super 8 Ball Club V1.0.2 on Google Play Store. At first, I'd express my appreciation for the greatest support from @tombstone by delegating 25,000 SP to our official @super8ballclub account which helped us distributing some solid rewards among the winners. Thank you @tombstone, I'm lacking words but all I can say is, it's awesome. On behalf of all the players of the game, I am thanking you once again.

Back to the topic. In this update, I've implemented some new features and fixed two serious bugs including coins reset bug. I am well aware that in-game coins at Super 8 Ball Club used to disappear occasionally. Several dozens of people requested for the refund. Considering the user base, it was quite tough for me to return the coins to the users after manually verifying how many coins were lost but I had to do it. Whoever contacted me with his case, I refilled his account with the same number of coins. If you are one of those who lost his/her coins on coins reset bug, please contact me on Discord to get them back. However, the bug is no more there in V1.0.2.

In this version, I've fixed the following bugs:

Coins Reset Bug:

When you used to watch some videos to increase your view count, the coins used to disappear often. Though I never had coins reset issue with my internet connection since it's quite stable. I found that coins reset bug used to appear to people with usually poor quality internet but there were some members with good internet connection facing the same problem. Anyways, I looked into the issue and found some of my mistakes in the code. It took quite a solid amount of time to figure out the cause, though. But all is well. I've successfully fixed the coins reset bug and you'll never run into that problem again, hopefully.

Improvements in Spin's impact:

I didn't expect in the beginning that people will try to misuse the spin techniques for their advantages but since there were no such rules, I couldn't call it an abuse. Instead of censoring people on using spin techniques, I believed that it would be better to eliminate any possibility of spin technique abuse. I genuinely had to work hard on it, but due to your support, I was able to focus on the work and thus successfully fixed it. The spin technique is now improved. One shot using the same technique will have 100 possible outcomes (unlike before where you had 1 sure outcome). Now you can keep using your same techniques but see the different results and outcomes. It doesn't mean that you won't pot any balls on the break, it means you won't get one guaranteed outcome with the same technique. Sounds exciting, right?

Let's move to the next part. In this version update of Super 8 Ball Club, I've implemented the following new features:

Break Shot Opportunity Rotation:

The game uses the concept of master and client. The one who first starts searching for an opponent, he becomes the master (i.e the room owner) and if someone clicks on the same table after a few milliseconds, he becomes the client. The logic is that room owner gets the opportunity to break the triangle of balls. That's the same concept which is used in thousands of games, so nothing new. But here's another thing, we also support rematch feature on which the settings of master and client don't get affected as they stay in the room and ask each other for a rematch.

Based on that, the break opportunity used to stick with the room owner despite the fact that he lost his previous game but since they were in the same room and he was still the owner, he got the opportunity of break again and the opponent, despite the fact that he won his last match, didn't get any break opportunity.

But with Super 8 Ball Club V1.0.2, the opportunity of break shot will now rotate on rematches based on the result of the previous match. The first rule is still the same, if you are a room owner, you'll get the opportunity to break but in case you lose the match and your opponent wins, and if the room owner accepts (or requests) the rematch, the opponent will get the break opportunity because he won the last game. Sounds great, right? Especially now after the improvements in spin technique, it's going to be a lot more exciting.

An easy way to claim referral rewards:

As you know, we are running a referral program at Super 8 Ball Club where we reward the referrer with 1,000 in-game coins The referred person gets 250 coins for using someone's name as a referrer. Though we made it clear in the FAQs, you receive the rewards only when your referrer verifies his account. Also, if your account is unverified but your referrer verifies his account, none of you will be credited. Both are required to be the verified members. So, make sure that you're verified before referring anyone, to ensure that you get your coins.

The point is that we announced that referral program after the initial release of the game which had no easy way to claim referral rewards. As a result, I've been adding the coins to your account in a way which required you to log in again, and if you don't log in, your coins could be lost. In my honest opinion, it was not an easy way to get referral rewards.

From this version, we're giving you an easy way to claim your referral rewards. Whenever you refer someone successfully, the developer (@princewahaj) will add the "to be added coins" to your account. After that, whenever you'd log in, if something is added by the dev, you will get the dialog which will prompt you to click on "Claim now". As soon as you click "Claim now", you get your coins instantly to your account. Quite easy, right? You need to do nothing other than clicking on "Claim now". No more logins to see the updated coins count!

Get your coins back lost on bad internet connection:

I didn't expect that the internet in some countries sucks to that extent. Especially in Nigeria, the connectivity really sucks. I know that because I never had "bad connection" issue in the game. Whenever you face troubles of connection, you see the "Connecting" wheel and lose the game on the spot if it happened during the match. That really pissed off many members, despite the fact that it's their own connection causing the issues. Please note that there is no reconnect feature at the moment. It's quite complex but I'm working on it.

Though I'm trying to implement the reconnect feature, I want you to be aware that networking issues are always complex and take a lot of time. I'm working on it but I can't say when it will be ready. However, I just decided to give you one temporary solution. You can now claim your coins back if you lost in any of the connection issues. But as soon as it becomes confirmed that you tried to abuse the system by manually disconnecting, you'll not get any kind of claim dialog. In other words, if you get "Something went wrong" message, it means you lost the opportunity of claiming the coins back since it's a confirmed internet issue.

Shares submission confirmation and error dialogs:

One of the members suggested that there should be a dialog of successful submission of shares, and also a dialog for any such failed attempt. I liked the idea and implemented this idea successfully. It proves that I take your suggestions seriously but I can only prioritize some of them since not everything is possible in short period of time. f

The old version will show a message to all players that new version is available. Please don't try to use any fraudulent method to get that version working once again or if you're caught doing it, we have the rights to ban you for life immediately. You've been warned!
