Ray Fisher Calls Justice League ‘Most Anticipated Superhero Film Of All Time’

Justice League is potentially the most anticipated superhero movie of all time, Ray Fisher, who takes on the role as Victor Stone/Cyborg in the upcoming DC epic, suggests. The 30-year-old actor joins a star-studded cast of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller in the Zack Snyder-directed production as Warner Bros. rolls out its first superhero ensemble flick in just several days from now.

Following the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman assembles a team of super skilled beings in preparation to defend the Earth against the take-over attempt by ultra-villain, Steppenwolf, who is aided by his army of Parademons. With Superman presumed to be dead, the responsibility to keep humanity safe lies in the hands of the newly-formed team. But just as any group of diverse individuals that has been hastily put together to act as a unit, the squad is expected to butt heads with each other, and if they want any chance to foil the evil plans of Darkseid’s uncle and subordinate, they must first learn to set aside their personal egos and start working together.

Given the massive fan base that these characters have from their time in the comics and the rich mythos that they bring with them, coupled with the current popularity of comic book movies, Fisher believes that the upcoming DC epic must be the most anticipated superhero film ever. In a new interview with New Zealand Herald as part of the cast doing press rounds for the film, he explains:

“I think this is probably the most anticipated superhero film of all time. You’ve got the most iconic characters of any comic house, like Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Aquaman, all coming together for the first time. Fans are going to love it!”

The young actor may have gotten carried away with his excitement over the project and understandably so, given how it could shake things up in the genre if it does well. However, co-star Affleck dials it down a little bit, angling on the pressure that comes with people’s excitement on Justice League instead, and admitting that he has not “worked on a movie where I haven’t felt that pressure to do well.”

“I think there’s definitely a lot of expectation around this movie. But to put it on a more humble note, there are a lot of other people out there making really good movies too, so we’re playing in a bigger pool with bigger contenders now. It’s a lot of pressure.”

Justice League is undoubtedly grand in scale — with its massive production and daring attempt to flesh out every DC Comics fan’s dream of bringing all these iconic characters together on the big screen. While it’s no secret that its production was marred with several setbacks, it arguably does not eclipse people’s excitement over the movie as indicated by the great box office tracking it has for its opening weekend. Whether it lives up to the hype or not is a different story, but it seems like things are doing pretty well for the Warners project, especially with test screenings supposedly having the same reaction to the widely successful Wonder Woman.Justice-League-Movie-Wallpaper-Textless.jpgRay-Fisher-as-Cyborg-in-Justice-League.jpg
