Everything in this life comes with a price. The price isn't always the money, it's also health, time, and other sacrifices. Our summerhouse project is all about that. My husband and I spent our last summer mapping out the basics of the project. What are our needs for the summerhouse? Do we need sauna, toilet, fireplace, second floor? What would that cost? Is it better to take a house package or built everything from the beginning to the end? Those are big questions and not easy to answer because of all the aspects that have to be considered.

After many discussions with house package providers, we decided to take a package. Let's say, there is enough work in that option too and it felt safer to built it that way. Even though it might have been a bit more expensive (not a fact!) than buying all the materials separately we had to measure other factors. We don't really have that many people to help us with this project which means that we must rely only on our own time and strength. That means that with the complete package, many aspects are already thought of and all the house components are measured, cut and some even painted. As we are not professional builders, construction engineers or else, this makes our work a lot easier. I mean, there are still thousands of new things to learn, take care of, plan, organize, negotiate, and BUILD.

We end up choosing a summerhouse package that fits our needs and in our budget, was accepted by everyone and looked nice. The floorplan is reasonable and the building itself is not the most complicated. I'll tell more details about our selection later. Now I have to rush to a meeting with our electrician!
