We are here to present our summary for the 5th week of SEC20.

Firstly, we are very thankful to the Steemit Team, who honored us with this opportunity. Secondly, we are thankful to our students who attended our class enthusiastically. I'm sure they have learned a lot in the hematology course. The good thing is that we received 24 entries this week. This shows the enthusiasm of Steemians.

We hope you are enjoying our last week of class as well.

Our fifth class was about SEC S20W5 || Hematología [Anemias Hemolíticas - Módulo 5]. In this course, students learned about Hemolytic Anemias in detail.

In this way, they have learned the basic definition of Hemolytic Anemias. The students learned the important thing, that hemolytic anemia is caused by the shortened life span of red blood cells. It can be both hereditary and an acquired disorder, and they also learned the importance of timely treatment for patients!

In the second question, students are supposed to discuss Sickle Cell Anemia.Excellent, students tried to mention the importance of this disease, not only from a hereditary point of view but also the connotations in the normal life of children. I liked that despite being able to say it with technical words, you said it in an understandable and very practical way.

As one of our student mention that this is referring to what you mentioned about parents not having the disease, but having the gene and being able to pass it on to their children.

In the It is almost the same as saying that said anemia can be inherited with a 25% probability if both parents have the gene for said disease. This shows how our students are enthusiastic to let us other students what they learned and what they explained.

In the next question they are supposed to make a table and let us know the difference between both Intravascular hemolysis vs Extravascular hemolysis. Most of the students made tabular form.

They did a good job of mentioning the differences in an explicit and easy-to-understand way, however, we feel it would have been better to present it in the form of a comparison table. But we really appreciate the effort you put into explaining both complex concepts!

In the last question they were asked to Explain a case of Hemolytic Anemia. Believe you me there are some extra ordinary students who explained daily life cases. We appreciate them. Let me share you one of our student discuss real life case.

We could say that from the usual students we expected a simple case, like the ones we have been working on in class. It is incredible how the detail of the valve in the heart could cause as much disaster as hemolytic anemia, that student explained everything in detail.

In the end, let me appreciate one of our students who said that such cases are from real life and it is for us also was a lesson to see and at the end to find what made a person unwell, it was learning point for us and we try to highlight those to our students too on such examples it is easy to remember and learn.
