American Shutdown - Chapter 25: Obituary: Soloff, Bernard “Bernie” J.
Obituary: Soloff, Bernard “Bernie” J.
Waltham: December 12, 2016, age 39. Predeceased by his father, Harold and survived by his dearest mother, Gilda (Samuels) and loving wife, Mimi (Hemmings,) his brothers Levy and Joshua and many nieces and nephews.
Berinie served two terms in the Iraq Wars from 2007 to 2011 and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star by the United States Marine Corp. Semper Fi
He wished special thanks be given to his friend, work colleague and golf partner, Sam Palermo, who understood the meaning of FUBAR and PTSD.
Bernie hoped that those who care about the future of their families and friends understand the callous and greedy disregard shown by corporations like M-Mtek regarding the welfare of its workers. M-Mtek’s recent Waltham plant shutdown illustrated modern corporations’ disregard for America’s future through the brutal abandonment of employees for love of profit gain with cheap replacement labor.
It was Bernie’s wish that a small family-only memorial service be held in his memory. At Bernie’s request, the family asks that all donations be sent to the Massachusetts Iraq Veterans Benefit Association or to a veteran‘s support group of your choice.
