AS A CHRISTIAN, SHOULD WE SUFFER STILL LIKE CHRIST?

The Bible said Yes:

1 Peter 2:21
This is because you are called to this. Christ also suffered for us and left us an example so that you would follow his steps.

But how?

The first apostles also suffered like Christ, beaten, crucified and some burned at stake. But they did not do it to themselves, but other people treat them that way because they did not reject their faith.

And this not for their sins to be forgiven:

Romans 6:23 (NASB) For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
