TURNING UP FOR JOB INTERVIEW.

Many young graduate of now a days who wish to work under some companies got rejected due to some reasons like failure to perform well during their interview.
Well, with this little guide i will drop now , i believe if not all , 95% of people who read and understand this will surely succeed any form of interview he or she might want to attend.

  1. CAPABILITY


    No-brainer. That is your “ticket to the game” in the first place. Typically, when an interviewer is interviewing, it takes them a couple of questions only to determine whether or not the candidate is in the wrong place in front of him/her. You must clearly understand what the role is about and be clear you have the know-how to deliver on the job.

    I have seen some interviewees in the course of my career, who evidently knew the answers to a question asked, but were overtaken by nerves, such that they stammered and staggered on the question. Your composure is key. Stay calm and confident. Just be yourself. In case you don’t know, we are all brands. Branding is about creating your own identity; a summation of what makes you unique. Your articulate expression of who you are, the confidence you display and how you “sell” yourself in the short time you have is important. I am assessing you for many things – including your calmness. I am even checking if you look fit because fitness is important for daily performance. Showcase your true brand identity!

    Oh for sure – I want to check for your ability to fit into my organisation. I have said before, in the corporate world, there’s nothing more important than integrity. As a CEO, I pardoned people for performance issues when there was positive intent and attitude to turn things around. What I couldn’t pardon people for was compliance failure with an intention to defraud the company. These days, your content and character are rated “pari-passu” in an assessment. Your attitude on the day counts – be nice, be respectful but don’t be overly patronizing as that could mean insecurity, inferiority or desperation.for example , you don't have to greet from seconds to seconds
  4. "CASH" request


    Try to create a balance between your remuneration ambition and what you consider that the company would find reasonable, as they can only give from what they have. Your package should be the outcome of your capability, market rates and company’s resources. Therefore, study the company’s profile and based on their financial and standing in the market, try to position them compensation-wise. Whatever you wish, in nine out of 10 cases, the employer already has a range in mind. I understand there are groups in the USA pushing to abandon the practice of fixing remuneration of interviewees based on historical pay of the candidate; first because every company should have its own pay structure and secondly because if the candidate is coming from a low base in their past job, applying a certain percentage increase on the low based package only means the candidate lives with this legacy (pay) issue “forever.”

    I am married to an “etiquette instructor” who has taught me over the years about panache and appearance. She says you must be “dressed as you wish to be addressed.” Get it right, most interviewers consider your appearance. No one is asking you to wear a tuxedo for an interview as an engineer. Somebody asked me recently, “why do recruiters expect interviewees to come in suits for certain roles, after all even Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook goes about in t-shirts and jeans. My response was simple: “what job did Mark tell you he was looking for?” By the way, we must understand that role-models are great, but not perfect, and it’s not necessarily everything they do or stand for that we must replicate in our lives. You need to make an effort to look smart, presentable and well groomed. Everything communicates. Proper grooming habits communicate to me that you are detailed and organised.

finally, Finally, I read a post on Whatsapp (one of the common messaging app) the other day that says “what people think of you is none of your business”, another way of saying “people’s opinion doesn’t matter.” I disagree. If it’s your boss or intending boss, you’d better make it your business to leave them inspired by you at every encounter with you.
