Sleep Habits Of The Successful And Rich.

in #success7 years ago

Does less sleep give one an advantage over the regular Joe.

Ever wounder how much rest a CEO of a major company actually gets a night. I personally thought about it more than once. I have always been taught through out my life that, what ever you decide to do, work harder than the competition. sometimes the only thing that you can do is cut out on a little sleep and work more hours and harder. You cannot change how many hours are in a day, but you can change how you use those hours.

Some of the most wealthy and successful people in world on an average get 6 hours of sleep a night. A few CEO's even the President of the United States only get about 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night. Does this give them an advantage over the competition? I personally think so.

Here are some of the most successful people in the world sleeping patterns.

  • Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX: 6 hours per night (1 a.m. - 7 a.m.)
  • Tim Cook, CEO of Apple: 7 hours per night (9:30 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.)
  • Bill Gates, Co-Founder of Microsoft: 7 hours per night (12 a.m. - 7 a.m.)
  • Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group: 5-6 hours per night (12 - 5/6 a.m.)
  • Jack Dorsey, Co-founder of Twitter: 7 hours per night (10:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.)
  • Tim Armstrong, Chairman and CEO of AOL: 6 hours per night (11 p.m. - 5 a.m.)
  • Barack Obama, President of the United States: 6 hours per night (1 a.m. - 7 a.m.)
  • Jeff Bezos, Founder & CEO of Amazon.com: 7 hours per night (10 p.m. - 5 a.m.)
  • Ellen DeGeneres, TV Host: 8 hours per night (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.)
  • Donald Trump, Presidential Candidate: 3 hours per night (1-4 a.m.)

Some people are genetically wired with what some have called the Thatcher gene.

Thatcher gene - A genetic mutation possessed by 1 - 3% of the worlds population causing them to require less sleep to function normally. Some people are genetically wired to thrive on less sleep.

I personally now am getting 7 and a half hours of sleep every night ( usually ). I am also running into the problem where i need more time in the day to get things done. From working the business to trading in the crypto world. I now need to figure out a way to rest less without causing any negative health effects.

Brian Tracy, leading authority on personal effectiveness, The development of human potential, And the Art of Salesmanship suggests the 40 plus formula.

Working 40 hours a week gets you survival - nothing more nothing less.

Working 40 hours a week will never get you ahead.

Every hour over 40 that you invest on yourself is an investment in your future.

Start earlier - work harder - stay later.

I am going to test myself these next 2 weeks. I am going to cut back on my rest from 7 and a half hours a night to sleep, to just 6. I truly believe that if i work harder and longer i can have a competitive edge on everything. I also believe that if I put in the hard work and hours now at my young age of 27, when i am in my early 40 or hopefully earlier i can sit back and chill. who knows though, maybe my crypto investments pay off in the coming years and i can retire really early lol :] coming from an upper class family has shown me what hard work can really do for you.

What do you think?

Are you the 1 - 3% that can thrive off less than 5 hours of sleep every day?

Do you think if you had more hours to work on your self you would thrive in the future?

Are you one that needs a constant 8 hours of rest every day?
