Smart Work, not Hard Work, for SuccesssteemCreated with Sketch.

We've all heard, "I work really hard in life, but I have not succeeded."

Success is not about hard work alone. Digging holes is very hard work, but only digging holes is not enough. You'll be strong and good at digging, but you will never be successful.

Yes, you have to work hard, but the work you do needs to be chosen wisely.

Every day I not only work my "day job" but also do additional work. I read books and study for my profession, and I learn Spanish as a second language. In addition to the extra work, I exercise to stay in shape.

Do things every day to improve yourself. Set goals and achieve them--late is better than never.

The difference between goals and dreams is that successful people work very hard to achieve goals. There are lots of unsuccessful people with dreams, but they never work hard to see them become a reality. What are you doing on a daily basis to improve yourself and be more successful?

Thanks! I hear so many people complaining or using excuses, and it saddens me. They are their worst enemy. If I can do it, they can do it.

The one Google+ thread where the guy kept going on about inequality of opportunities is what motivated this post.

If you are born in the middle of a third world nation and in a place with few opportunities, success will definitely be more difficult.

It is still obtainable though.
