The Magic of Controlled Mindset
Did you ever realize how thoughts are constantly coming into our heads at every moment of the day? Without our intention thoughts will continue to fill your head of new ideas. Try closing your eyes and have a silent mind for 30 seconds. It may be very difficult unless you had training.
This constant intake of new thoughts can influence you to make new choices at any moment. The things you see or hear have the potential to make you change your mind as you may get triggered by your uncontrolled monkey mind…as they call it.
Why Control Your Mind?
It is not the easiest task to control your mind. Even when you have more control over it, there will always be some circumstances that will cause you to break that power.
Discipline
The better you become at being more in charge of your own thoughts, you will create a powerful discipline in all aspects of your life. The way to control it is from repetition and practice. This requires a strong discipline to work at something that constantly happens naturally within you.
Your body and mind is like a programming computer. The more you perform a task, such as controlling your mind and having discipline to stick with it, the more your body will recognize those habits, patterns and behaviors.
Your body’s cells will start to remember to stick at something, to hold a certain thought or task as you continue to do it over time. It will recognize “discipline” the power to keep at something when you want to hold it.
Achieving Goals
Our uncontrolled thoughts are usually the reason most people do not complete goals or never start in the first place. The nonstop chatter of all the reasons of what you should do or not do is what causes a change of course when you should be sticking to something.
This is the very reason why mentors and coaches are very beneficial to achieve big goals you want. They keep you on the task at hand and know the steps you should take. Most people want to take the school of hard knocks (Figure it out themselves) because they do not want to be wrong. If you have not done something before, you will have a tough time navigating the unknown waters as you go.
When you have a controlled mindset you stick to the plan you have. You continue to work at each step, instead of jumping from one to another or abandoning all together because your mind is tired, bored or have another plan strikes your attention.
How Do Control Your Mind?
One of the strongest ways to control your thoughts and then your emotions is through the power of meditation. This practice keeps you focused on your breathing and to recognize the thoughts that continuously jump into your head. The more you train to focus on your breath, the more able you will be able to keep it that way when you want.
Everything is practice so the more you do this for longer amounts of time, the easier it will become to control thoughts jumping into your head or not. Eventually you won't need to focus on your breath... you'll be more in control and aware of thoughts manifesting within you.

Like the idea of being in charge of our thoughts.
We actually can create ourselves into anything we want. And it's done by thoughts in the first place. By uncontrolled thoughts we create ourselves into uncontrolled something. But when we control our thoughts, then yes, we achieve the goals we wanted.
To me helps not only a meditation of silence, but also a meditation of dance. This is a meditation you just feel all you feel and hear all you hear and transform it into dance, thus relive it. And then your mind becomes more quiet and a moment of silence could be achieved. :)
Yes!! We are creators. I 100% agree with your comments here.
The meditation dance sounds amazing and do try it sometimes. To just feel and embrace all great loving feelings. I will do my best to remember to incorporate it also, as I think that has a world of benefits as well.
Thanks so much @aleksandraz!
Aaah, could not imagine that you practice dance meditation, even if happens rarely. :)
Once in a blue moon. :D
This is one amazing topic, my friend. Emotions and thoughts just like like cellphone and tv signals are transferable anywhere. Even into our heads. I actually wrote a lot about this in one post similar to this. Have you ever wondered why sometimes you are angry or sad and you don't know why? I truly believe sometimes the feelings and the thoughts you have are not your thoughts? If that makes any sense?
And the reason I am saying this and you got into it here is because I regularly meditating every morning now for 1 hour at least for the past 6 months. Sometimes more than 1 hour. And, to some degree, I can distinguish which are my thoughts and feelings and which ones are just absorbed from some outside source.
Let's just say meditation has transformed my life. I am definitely calmer and at peace more than ever before. But, it does take regular practice. In order to get to the stage of complete calmness takes discipline.
Great topic, my friend, and a great post. Keep it up. :)
That is a great analogy. I think I understand, the thoughts are not ours because we are not really in control of them at that/those points.
I agree with outside sources and our own thoughts. I called them... Triggered Thoughts vs Conscious Thoughts. Once you are aware of this you see how things influence you so much.
An hour meditation each morning is impressive! I see some pretty great results on 15 min first thing in the morning. It has transformed my life as well. Everything is in more control and peace. It is a wonderful blissful feeling. :D
Thanks so much @awakentolife!!
Yep, every morning 1 hour. I actually have a teacher for it. It took 6 months of continuous practice to get to this point and I am only getting started. Right now I am on the 9th step of 15 for the first level. And, there are 3 levels with I don't know how many step jet. And, yes it has transformed my life just like yours. So much more control and peace in my life. It is crazy. :)
We get bombarded with so much information today and some of the stick with us. Once you can identify them you unclog your brain how I would say. lol
Thank you for the great reply. Keep that meditation up. :)
Great advice. The best practice to train our mind and thoughts is through meditation. When I tried to meditate for the first time, I found it pretty difficult. First 20 seconds it was okay and then my mind was all over the place. What i need to buy, what I need to cook, what I need to organize and work on. After some time of practice, I am able to focus on my breath and the present moment for at least 5 minutes straight. I am still a beginner when it comes to meditation but it really works. Awesome article. Thanks
That is awesome and such a great lesson in that itself. We have creatures of habit. When we haven't done things the day before or for awhile, we develop the opposite patterns. Even if we choose to sit still and quietly, when we haven't done so, our mind will say get up!! And then your body will want to also. It is quite interesting to me and why I find topics of this so fascinating. How we work is very intriguing. With our awareness or without it. :D
Thanks and keep the practice going. The more you do the more your mind and body will adapt to it. Everything is pretty much like a muscle we need to work.
Love it @bitdollar! Man, the Steem engine peoples must be operating on similar wavelengths! You, me and @awakentolife all spoke about mindset/meditation/happiness today. Pretty damn cool. Thanks for all your insight on the power of the mind, I really enjoy how much you dive into it and provide action steps (like meditation). Keep on steem'n!
Awesome!! We are in sync also. You mentioning 3 things similar is quite comical to me. As I've also been seeing so much number synchrony.
Thanks @artibeus!
Another great topic and video. I have been sick all week and the highlight of my day is your post. The only good thing about being sick is there is no what I call "White Nose" unnecessary information and stimulation I do not need or want. I have a hyper mind and body so I constantly need tools on how to get thing done.....not thinking about getting them done...but done. I have mentioned to you that I am a very visual person so when I get my sealegs for the day I sit down and make a list of achievable goals for the day. Now this is where visualization comes in I then visualize myself encased in a protection shield and repeat the words think, THINK, think. The three thinks symbolize first small think (yesterday) last small think (future) the BIG middle THINK (today). I close my eyes and breath and self talk "Please keep me focused on my goals for today let go of yesterday and tomorrow. I will tune out all unneccessary white noise that can sabotage the success of today." I always end with "Thank you God for this is done". I know sounds like a heck of a lot of work but when you practice this everyday and you see the brilliant results it becomes second nature.
Thanks so much for your kind words. I means a lot that you enjoy these posts so much to me.
That is a great training tip to focus on your goals and get them done @donnab! I need to visualize more often and will try this out tomorrow. You have such words of encouragement and amazing insight on all these topics yourself. I am learning a great deal for you and am thankful for it!
We are a great tag team..we learn from each other. Certain people cross our path for more reasons then we will ever know....it just is.
I believe that. I meet people are all ages and always have such an importance on my life. Thanks @donnab!
Great post! It is tough to do, but so worth it when you can clear your head completely. I have a lot going on in my business and I always find my best ideas come when I am on vacation and thinking nothing about business. lol. You have to be quite and let your mind talk!
Exactly. You can't hear new ideas if you are continuously swarming yourself with non stop chatter.
LOTS of improvement in this presentation. Very good eye contact with the camera. A more measured, calmer, more relaxed delivery. Much more effective. Much easier to understand! What a marvelous difference you've made with these small changes. (big gold star!!)
Whooo! Couldn't have done it without you! Thank you very much. I look forward to continue to make improvements for everyone here. :)
This can turn to addicting behavior if not in check. We need to become the masters of our body and brain. Excellent inspiration.
Yes 100% agree with that!
Great advice! I have yet to try meditation but I have been told it makes wonders with our minds!
Ps: I wanted to ask you something so I don’t know if I should look you up in discord or steemit chat?
Cheers man!
Ya it is wonderful.
Hit me up on discord. Same name here. Look forward to hearing from you. :D
Always enjoy your stuff. Been focusing on stuff like this. One bite at a time, I enjoy the elephant. Sometimes when I'm working on the computer I hit a workflow that is almost rhythmic on the keyboard, in the zone. Anyways, thank you for the insights as usual. Good to gear success stories, too. 'Til next time, sir.
Thanks so much @mental-extract! I love being in the flow!! :D
Very welcome. Right? It's cool. Empowering at times.
