Ivanka Trump adds flair to business casual outfit with bell sleeves
Now that she’s settled into her new role, home, and lifestyle in D.C., Ivanka Trump is starting to feel comfortable showing her true colors in the fashion department.
The first daughter exited her upscale Washington, D.C., home on Monday, reported the Daily Mail, wearing a business casual outfit. Heading off to work, Trump looked White House appropriate in a light-pink long-sleeved mock turtleneck tucked into a gray plaid pencil skirt. She paired the look with maroon pumps. Trump wore this look on camera for her interview with Sean Hannity and participated in a town hall on tax reform with U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza in Bucks County, Penn.
Apparently, however, she wears her flair on her sleeves. The sleeves of her $195 top, which was designed by Staud, were business on top and party on the bottom, thanks to exaggerated bell cuffs. The deep-red fluted taffeta cuffs added some personality to the otherwise conservative look.
Dramatic sleeves are making a statement this season, and Trump is driving the trend train with her sophisticated yet mildly playful take.
But statement-making sleeves are just one of the major trends this fall. Turtlenecks are making a comeback as well, and clearly Trump is a supporter. Not only did she wear one yesterday, but she wore a similar outfit last week — an emerald turtleneck tucked into another gray plaid pencil skirt. This $40 skirt was from Zara and featured a peplum ruffle. She combined two trends in that blouse as well, as her shirt was velvet — the star of 2017 fall fashion.
