New street art Dublin 7th March 2018
I just noticed a new piece of work near Wexford Street in Dublin today. Its a different style from what I've seen before so I don't think I've seen this artist's work before. Perhaps its a new kid in town or a tourist here for a few days who wants to leave their mark in Dublin. Or perhaps a local who has decided to become the next Banksy in Ireland...
It seems to have an environmental message but also a planetary one with some stencilled octopi swimming about with flying saucers. Not sure what the bee / octopus connection is, perhaps just life on the planet?
There's an obvious connection with the hexagonal honey comb shapes and the flowers and the bees and the big question is how long will they survive? and will they survive or is it into the space ship and off to wreck the next planet for us humans?
Its refreshing to see public space used as a form of artistic expression and to make people think a bit rather that the deluge of outdoor advertisements telling us to "buy more crap we don't need and thus destroy the planet"!!
