First of all, well done everybody. We went up against some serious competition in the polls, and we prevailed. I think this is testimony to the power held by this community, and it is inspiring to say the least.
Now that we are in the final, the challenge ahead of us just got far more difficult.
In the last round, we almost lost out after a surprising comeback by XMR (Monero). We need to be prepared for something similar to happen in this final. If we use all of our voting power too early, then another community, backing a different coin, will force a late push that we may not be able to recover from this time.
It may be in our best interest to be the late pusher, rather than frantically attempting to re-take the lead after another does just that. If we hit this poll full force right now, then the other communities behind the other coins will know exactly what it will take to beat us. But if we wait, others will think they have it in the bag and won't vote as much.
The Best Course of Action
I'm no battle commander, but I have a solid understanding of tactical strategies. I feel we would be better served allowing the others to think we are defeated, so that they do not fight as hard... Then, we strike with the full force of our community when there is not enough time for a response.
We need to win this poll. Not for ourselves, but because Steemit is making a difference in so many people's lives-- myself included. We owe it to the world to deliver the news of Steemit, and what it can mean for the average person and their families, and winning this poll is a strong step in that very direction.
This idea did not occur to me until after I voted and seen the current standings, but if you are reading this now, I encourage you to consider prolonging your vote until the last few hours of the competition. We can win this, and we should. For everybody.
If you agree with this strategy, resteem to spread the word to your followers. STEEM on!
I'm not so sure. We should push until it is at least close. Falling behind too much will result in a lack of motivation and may cost us votes overall. Seeming defeated may make the others complacent, but it also makes us feel defeated (which is not good for getting out votes).
I agree that we must find a balance. We don't want to give ourselves too difficult a task of catching up, nor do we want to hurt the elevated morale that the previous round's victories have provided the community with. I just don't think we should put everything we have into this poll until it reaches a time when everything else that another coin has is no longer of relevance.
I totally agree with this strategy sir!
I really hope that Steem is the winner!!!

When is the last day of this? Either I'll resteem this post that morning or make another post that morning and put the link in a comment of mine or chat and I'll resteem that one. I'll ask Paul to also.
That would be great, because I have feared that people read this and didn't vote, but then might forget on the last day. This should help limit the chances of that happening.
Balance is important... but it may be the best thing to have a sort of "tidal wave of votes" come in with about 2 days to go. Which could be created as a result of a lot of members around the world (24-hour cycle) posting reminders and resteeming.
One of the fairly effective things I saw during the last round was someone who sent 0.01 Steem to 100'd of people, causing a "wallet alert" where there was message to remember to go to twitter and vote. With a broader effort by dozens/100s of people, that might be a good course of action.
A cool idea. Hopefully some dev has the means to send 0.00001 STEEM to every active user with a friendly reminder. Shouldn't cost much, but will grab everyone's attentions.
Yesterday we were behind by far now we are coming back a bit, still No. 4 only! Think we need to gear up already a bit but have a strong finish (by help of our great dev and bots maybe?)
I'd prefer it if we didn't use bots. I suspect that's what's going on with ETC. I think we have the power to win this fairly, but we need everyone on here to vote.
some men can recharge very fast, and some women can go multiple times. so, i say go all out - what may come, may come.
I don't understand the analogy, but I don't disagree that we should go all out. I just thinking timing is key to ensuring our success.
We don't necessarily need to have a huge lead, but we need to keep things close to keep people from being demoralized and not wanting to vote.
We need to show even more support for the final round! kindly request all the people who you know have twitter account to vote for steem and keep your vote intact for late push.
Together we can and we will make Steem succeed!
