At present, 23 units are working under the fire control, the Fire Service control room has been informed in the first light.
It is known primarily because the fire is spreading very quickly. There were seven to eight thousand tin and wooden houses built in slums constructed on about 70 bighas of land. Local people said that around 25,000 people were living in these houses.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. No one could even confirm the casualties. The Fire Service said it would be known after the fire control. Most of the houses found in the slums have been burnt to the fire.
The Fire Service said most of the slum dwellers were garment factory workers. Almost everyone had a garment shop. Was also a combustible substance That is why the fire spreads very quickly.
Major Shakil Nawaz said a woman was injured in the fire incident. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The committee will be formed soon to investigate the incident.
Local MP Ilias Ali Mollah told the first light that almost all the houses of the slum were burnt to the fire. There were about 25 thousand people living in these houses.
Ilias Ali Molla told the first light that the people affected by the fire will be assisted, initially, assistance from private funds will be arranged. He has assured the rehabilitation of the houses whose house has been burnt.
Sham Alam, the slum dweller, said that they saw the fire some days before the last night, yesterday. Quickly came out of the house and took shelter in a safe place. But could not save the house. He said that the majority of slum dwellers were like him, he said.
Local people and slum dwellers, there were seven to eight thousand tin and wooden houses in the slum.
Fire Service Director (Operation) Major Shakil Nawaz told the first light that the fire was fully controlled by the local people at 7:20 am. Fire service works 23 units of fire.
