Ren du Lot was annoyed. Not only he had discovered that he was not related at all to the Duke's family, but also he had learned that he was not a real Duke. In fact, his last name was Dupondt and most of his ascendants were policemen from Belgium.

However, there was no way that he would divulge the results of his research to anybody, especially not to Count B.

The Count was in his office and he was not happy. He was complaining about some woman called Runt Odel that had posted flyers all around town trying to stop the wedding between Bettonika and Harchtchy.

Run du Lot knew about Runt Odel, because she had come to see him several days before. She did not really say why she was objecting to the wedding, but in any case there was nothing he could do to stop the wedding, and even if he could, he would not do anything against his client.

The Count wanted to sue Runt Odel. Ren du Lot did not dare to tell the Count that it was not his area of expertise, because the last time he tried that the Count was angry, and he almost lost him as a client.

Ren du Lot was annoyed.
