Fantastic Demonstrators and Where to Find Them

Steemit Community, in this blog post I will share with you story about an unusual event that happens in my country 12 December 2016 ago. An event that first time happens in Indonesia history after our independence in 1945. The story of the peaceful demonstration called super peaceful action 212 at Monas (National Monument).

No one has exact figures of how participants super peaceful actions that took place with the congregational Friday prayers. No one claimed as many as seven million Muslims, some say in the range of 1.5 million to three million people came. However, there is also a mention is not up to one million people.

Can you imagine a lot of people gather, but the action is super peaceful?

In this post, I will not discuss political issues underlying this demonstration. I position myself as a neutral side. I just tell the unique and unusual story that happen in this demonstration.

Before the 212 event, we have heard a variety of obstacles to the bus and a variety of other things, so as not to transport residents to the Jakarta area. Even the news came 212 is prohibited. But, it was not able to dampen the determination. Thousands of people willingly walk hundreds of kilos to get to Jakarta. No matter have permission or not.

About 2,000 Boarding School Miftahul Huda II and hundreds of other organizations traveled from his home in Ciamis, West Java, to Jakarta. A distance of 250 km, they traveled by foot 4 days and 4 nights. Of course, very tiring but in their minds, it is something that must be fought.

Students of Ciamis has inspired other demonstrators from various parts of the country that follows a joint 212 event. Some demonstrators help each other to buy a plane ticket and go along with chartering a plane.

Many people that provide free food beside the street for the demonstrators with their own funds. Many pitchmen give their product for free but some demonstrators fill their pocket with money. Other people give massage service for free. They did it with their will without being told, the beauty of togetherness.

Seeing the large number of the demonstrators who join 212 event, finally the president of the republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo approached the demonstrators to hear their demands at Monas. After feeling the president listening to their demands, they return to their home peacefully and orderly.

The amazing event happen. Millions of people dispersed peacefully without leaving any trash and vandalizing public property. Demonstration in my country usually ended by chaos and destruction of public facilities. Although done by college students who said the intellectuals. The demonstrators 212 event, bring their trash and broom to clean the rest of the trash. A very unusual moment, the moment that will always be remembered in the history of Indonesia.
