DDOS Attack

Yesterday was a quite a day. I didn't realize how much Steemit has become a part of me. I was just pacing from one corner of my room to the other staring at my phone.

It didn't occur to me that I could log in with https://beta.chainbb.com or https://busy.org or that I could use the esteem app.

I was slightly worried as I'm not a techy person. Okay, I was very worried. I have developed a very strong attachment to and love for Steemit. I told everyone I know about it and I brag about it every single day. One of my friends even called me to say "told ya!".
Now that I think of it, its actually very funny, Lol...

In Nigeria because of our 'MMM experience', whenever an online platform is having issues people usually start to panic because it means that a crash is about to happen.

MMM is a ponzi scheme that became very popular last year. It crashed in December, and left a lot of people wallowing in tears.

Anyways, I was very excited when the site was fully restored and I learned that it was a ddos attack.

This is how I felt after the site was restored.

A DOS or denial of service attack is simply a cyber attack where a cyber-attacker tries to deny people from having service from a site by denying them access to the site. The attacker does this by creating multiple and superfluous entry to this site. This creates a traffic and prevents other legitimate users from getting access to the site. It becomes a distributed denial of service DDOS attack when the attackers uses a lot of computers from many different locations.

Special thanks to the dev team, programmers, witnesses and everyone else who was behind the scenes battling those DDOS monsters. You are guys are the real MVP's.
