The Obstacle in our Path - A Short Story

Something we get very disappointed for the hurdles and obstacles arising in our path. We blame God for these miseries and don’t try to get rid of them. We simply don’t make efforts to ease our life instead we start to complain for our conditions.

Following short story is a clear example of how the efforts and hard work in life not only removes Obstacles from life but also return a favour full of big rewards.

Once upon a time, there was a strong, wealthy and curious king. One day he decided to test the loyalty and hard work of his nation so get his men to place a huge boulder in the middle of a road and he hid nearby to see that if anyone would try to remove the rock or not from the road.

People began to pass by, initially there were king’s wealthiest merchants who traveled by that road. The king began to watch their reaction. He was amazed to see that Instead of moving it, they simply walked around it and blamed the King for not maintaining the roads and his sluggishness and None of them tried to move that huge boulder.

Finally, king saw a peasant who came along. His arms were full of different stuff like fruits and vegetables. King was actively watching him and his reaction so, when he got near the boulder, he action left king with no words. That man tried hard to move the stone from the road and eventually succeeded instead of simply walking around it like the others did.

Once he moved it he saw a purse lying over there it was full of gold coins and a note from the king.

The note said that the gold was a reward for moving the boulder from road.

So this showed the peasant, the king that hard work and determination pays off.

By the above example we should know that every hurdle or obstacle comes with an opportunity to improve our condition and life. We should not hesitate to do good and make things easier for us and other as it will simply pay off one day.
