A Unicorn’s Magic Story
Once upon a time a beautiful magical unicorn sauntered into a corner convenience store.
“Hey, no animals allowed!” said the clerk, sure there must be someone right outside the doors that was guiding the odd-looking little horse.
“Listen Bub, you see this horn? Yeah, that’s right, I know how to use it,” said the unicorn with a swish of its tail.
The clerk was paid to stand at the cash register and take people’s money, he wasn’t paid to care, so he simply shrugged and went back to his comic book.
The unicorn pranced around the shop, the clop of its hooves producing a light musical sound. It perused the aisles and sniffed at the bright, colorful candy before making its way to the snack section where it gently used its lips to lift a bag of cheese curls and carry it to the counter.
With barely even a glance the clerk scanned the bag and said, “That’ll be $3.50.”
“I don’t have any money on me, but I have something better,” said the unicorn.
“What’s that?”
“Magic unicorn farts.”
“How is that better than money? I fart all the time,” said the clerk.
“With just whiff of my magic unicorn farts, you can make all your dreams come true,” said the unicorn.
The clerk shrugged again. “I guess I can give it a try.”
The unicorn wiggled its backside, lifted its tale, and a delightful rumbling trumpet blasted into the air accompanied by a shower of sparkles. The clerk paused then took a deep sniff. Suddenly, the most recent issue of Otaku Monthly appeared on the counter before him.
“That’s it?” asked the unicorn.
The clerk gazed at the magazine lovingly. “It’s the latest issue,” he said.
“What about gold? Gems? You get to wish for anything you want, you could have wished for girls, and you wish for this?”
“It’s got girls in it,” said the clerk.
Shaking his head, the unicorn picked up the bag of cheese curls and left, his shimmering fart sparkles still floating in the air.
He had priorities the unicorn couldn't begin to understand. Great story.
