Poetry is a hard subject. people tend to think poetry is easy, but it is not, takes study and practice to sharpen skill. Sometimes I have trouble understanding what poetry is. Some days it will be clear as a blue sky, and then the next I have trouble understanding. My best advice to you, if you write a poem, write on a subject that has a emotional connection to you, because if you feel it and has importance to you, it will be easier to write about it.
