Trying to hasten her steps, she walked faster, even faster than someone in a race. As she pondered and her heart beat faster, she said to herself "I must have been a fool all these while".

Mabel have always been the calm, intelligent and cautious person who was being envied by her peer. The informal education she got had a great impact in her formal education and moral disposition.
Everything about life seems sweet until she was met with an ugly situation that really changed her life tremendously.

One fateful afternoon while she was in the library, a cute and very attractive guy with a positive disposition approached her . Nuel had this way of styling his hair, making him look so handsome, coupled with his tempting dimples. He was slim, tall and chocolate in complexion. His Cologne has this sweet fragrance that could make you sniff his cloth all day. His dress sense was simple and classy. In addition to all these features, he was the best in his department.

After reading and searching through the books, she couldn't find a concise and explanatory note on some anticancerous drugs the lecturer asked them to read, she headed straight to the library to check. While searching out the shelve to get the textbook, she accidentally hit a volume of books on the book shelf and they fell to the ground, but Nuel was quick to pick them and gave her the book and she thanked him. Curiously he asked for what she was looking for and she told him, just scanning through with his eyes, he said "here you go", she was astonished how he got it real quick what took her hours to find. They got acquainted. She had never been this attracted to a guy all her life due to the circumstances surrounding her upbringing. Guys were like a forbidden fruit. Her mum made her believe she would loose concentration, which would lead to a total destruction as closeness to opposite sex could annihilate her future. Her attitude really kept them at arms length.

She sat opposite Nuel in the library, he was so engrossed in what he was reading that he didn't notice when a butterfly perched on him and she on the other couldn't concentrate on what she was reading, she kept stealing glances at him, at that point there was a transformation. She walked up to him and waved off the butterfly with her hand and told him about it, he just simply smiled and thanked her.

When he was through with his book, he asked if they can leave together, without hesitation, she agreed. He saw her off to her doorstep which she appreciated affectionately.
About a week later, while Mabel was taking a nap, she heard a soft knock on her door. "Who is it?" she asked curiously and a soft voice broke the silence, "It is me, Nuel." She was shocked as how he got her address and kept wondering, so she asked how he got her address. He replied, jokingly asking if she had partial amnesia, and reminded how he saw her off the other day. She was quick to apologize and asked him to come in. "What do I offer my August visitor", she asked and he replied "Anything soft is fine".
