Attack the guard
We have been discussing the use of tactics in the game of chess for several numbers. The main purpose of most of the tactics was to cut the opponent's lot. But if you want to cut it, you can do it. You make an attack on a dice, cut the dice. The opponent will not sit still, will look for an intelligence to resist the attack. The guard will sit for the lot. This time we will discuss how to defeat that guard, how to break the defense of the opponent.
You hit an opponent's dice. How can he resist that? Suppose you made an attack on a horse, on his elephant. He can repel the attack in two ways, either by removing his elephant or by placing another one on the elephant's guard. If you do the first one, you will not be able to cut the dice anymore. If you do the second one, another focus point for you is to defeat the guard dice first. At any given moment in the game, you can have a lot of attacks that have guards again. In those cases, how to cut the ball is the attack on the guard, in English, removing the guard.
There are four types of tricks you can use to remove the guard and shake the real ball.
- Cut off the guard's rod,
- Threaten the guard by attacking the dice, forcing it to retreat,
- Moving to another place on the board without worrying about the guard lot and the affected lot or
- Destroy the guard with a piece of rice between the guard's nest and the affected nest (such as an elephant moving between an elephant and a boat will not be able to guard the boat anymore). In this article we will try to understand just how the technique of cutting the guard lot works.
For example, let's look at the condition of picture 1. Our white dice. First of all, we have to find out who is actually attacking with which dice. There are at least two attacks here. The white boat is attacking the black elephant, which is guarded by an army and a boat. Again the white minister is attacking the black horse, which is guarded by the black elephant. What do we do in this case?
The idea is to cut two pieces in a row. If the elephant is cut with the boat (Rxe6), the opponent will cut the army or the white boat with the boat (let's say the opponent runs Rxe6). At that moment, the black exchange benefited, but with the next donation, the white minister will be able to cut the black horse effortlessly, because the guard elephant has already been cut. All in all, a horse and an elephant were found in exchange for a boat, and in the end, Sadai is ahead in this exchange.
An example was eating the infected lot before the guard ate the lot. Here the black but otherwise could have answered the elephant bite. Nxf2, cuts a soldier and threatens the minister. Although it did not have the last guard, it would have had to lose a boat over there instead, because the white boat could have given Rxe8 + rice. As the king read the check, the white horse could be cut off in the next donation.
However, a few things stand out from the example we have shown. First let's see the black horse, this dice has moved into the opponent's area, just guarding another dice. In this way, if the unprotected ball is sent to the opponent's area, he can cut the ball many times by fork. Therefore, valuable lots should not be sent to the opponent's area without adequate protection.
Another thing can be seen in the case of the opponent's lot. All his pieces were on guard. But he also had weaknesses in guarding. Like an elephant, it was guarded by a soldier. Very good guard, because to cut this dice the opponent has to exchange at least one valuable dice. On the other side was an elephant guarding the horse, whose weakness we saw. From this we can learn that in order to guard a dice, one should usually keep a less expensive dice than that one. And if the opponent does not do that, you have to take the opportunity.
What is the real rule for cutting the guard and cutting the real lot first? You have to find an attack first. When he went to attack, he saw another piece guarding that piece. Then you have to try to cut the guard first.
Let's look at another example in Figure 2. Now you have to run the black dice. Black is attacking two white dice, a boat, an elephant. It is not possible to cut a white elephant and win a valuable prize, because the guard is a soldier. The guard elephant in the case of boats. In other words, if you cut this dice, you get a valuable dice in return. But when we go to cut the white boat, we will see that there is a guard of this lot, an elephant. Then first you have to cut the elephant (Rxg6 +), the white answer is to cut the boat with the soldiers. But now the white boat has no guard, Rxe4 can safely run black.
Pictures 3, 4 and 5 are given three problems. The first two will have white rice at the beginning, the 5th will have black rice first. In all three cases, the guard must first be cut off and then attacked. Try the solution.
Finally, let's look at the whole thing briefly again. At any time before giving rice, you have to find out which of the opponent's pieces are going to be attacked or which of his pieces are affected. If they have any guards, then if the guard has a chance to cut the dice, it should be cut at the beginning. Try to master this technique. In the next issue we will discuss what other ways can be used to disrupt the security of the guards.
