Chapter 2 - When Asteroids Collide

Oliver and his team are getting closer and closer to where the asteroids have collided avoiding most of the big rocky metal parts of the asteroids to the best of their ability. Small parts of the dark asteroids still manage to hit sides and window of the rockets panicking everyone inside. Their protection is at 90% going lower and lower as each second that they pass through the cosmic inferno. Alice who is at the back of the convoy is in no trouble being protected by the other 3 rockets which are manually driven through this inferno. Oliver sees a big chunk of the asteroid heading straight for them he quickly maneuvers the rocket by pulling the handle downwards in order for the rocket to go up and avoid as much as possible the huge asteroid parts. He opens his radio station to talk to Alice and dispatch.

Oliver - " A big part of the asteroid is heading at full speed straight for us , we have to go up now!"

Dispatch - " I'm maneuvering the 2 rockets to sync, we can do this"

Alice - " God help us all! "

They all pull up the rockets at the same time when the 3 rockets go up Alice sees the big part heading straight for them and stalls in fear and agony.

Oliver - " ALICE PULL UP ! PULL UP NOW ! "

Alice shakes her head and pulls up the rocket, but it's too late , their rocket has been hit and protection levels are down lower than 45%. Luckily, their engine is still working and can follow on with the mission. Everything seemed to have ended for her and her team but this is not the case. They head through the toughest terrain yet. With thousands of big chunks that they have to dodge like in a dodgeball game. Everything is heading straight towards them with no escape from some small parts Oliver's ship is at 75% Protection whereas Alice's ship is only 35% Protection making her and her team very vulnerable if another big chunk of asteroid hits them. This could end everything that they've planned for, wished for and paid for! Ending in pain and agony in the vast space of our galaxy.

Oliver - " Listen up Alice, we need to stay focused so we can get through this! Can you do it ? "

Alice - " Yes Oliver, let's finish with this already! "

Oliver and Alice are staying as focused as a camera lens. Trying to spot where the next part of the asteroids could hit. The smaller parts of the asteroids continue to hit each other creating more and smaller rocks that could potentially be fatal to the teams. Each of the team members starts worrying even more and more when the small chunks of asteroids continue to bombard them. Praying and wishing that everything will be alright so that they continue with their mission to save the human race from extinction.
Going further and further inside the collision the AI informs Alice that her protection levels are really low, below 20% If it gets below 10% the engine could be fatally damaged which could compromise to the entire mission. For their luck, Oliver sees a large gap of space where they could go ahead towards so they get out of this fatal and near impossible mission.

Oliver - " Okay everyone, follow my lead and we will be out of here "

They activate their thrusters to max power and head straight towards the big gap getting hit by small chunks of rocky metal asteroids rushing towards the exit of the inferno. Oliver sees that big chunks of asteroids are starting to pile up in the gap, they have to get out of there now or they will never make it! Being all surrounded by asteroid they have their last chance of escape. Oliver's protection level is at 55% where'as Alice is at 15% luckily for her Oliver has taken most of the damages to clear the way for the convoy to go through.

Oliver - " The gap is closing ,e ready to activate your thrusters to max power, "

Alice - " Okay, clear the way for us "

Oliver - " Activate them now! Full power ahead "

They all activate the thrusters full power at the same time. The convoy moves at 2x the speed of sound through small rocks and metal parts. Inside , they can feel the speed having to hold on the chairs as hard as they can so they don't fly out. Oliver and Alice both hold onto the rocket's handles as steady as they can as any movement can set the rocket flying into a different direction.

Finally, Oliver is first out of this cosmic hell being followed by the 2 rockets carrying most of their supplies needed for survival. Alice is at the end with the gap closing and closing faster and tighter. she pulls the handle downwards and gets through the gap just in time as big metal and rocky parts of the asteroids collide in one another making the gap impossible to pass anymore. They are all relieved that they achieved to get through this cosmic inferno full of rock and metal that would've destroyed every chance of the human race to survive.

Oliver - " Uhuuu ! We did it!!! "

Alice - " Well, this was one tough obstacle to go through. We couldn't do it without you, Oliver!"

Dispatch - "Wow, you've done a great job, we were all worried that you wouldn't make it  good luck out there, dispatch out"

Oliver looks in the distance and sees the ginormous red planet that they will soon have to call home. Looking at it from the with the sun shining upon it , it looks like an ocean of blood. With no water, no habitual life and empty vast space. 

Chapter 3 - Prepare for landing 

Chapter 3 will be finished this week, a new adventure awaits us all .
