The story of Prophet Yunus AS Inside The Whale's Belly
Prophet Yunus was sent by Allah to preach to the inhabitants of the Ninawa region, south of Iraq. Yunus was not a native of Ninawa because he was born in Palestine. He is a resident in the midst of the Ninavas. The Ninavites are a wealthy people. However, they are very grabbing, deifying objects, worshiping idols, and assume a certain place as a sacred place. Jonah carries the teachings of monotheism and faith. He invites the Ninawas to worship God. The teachings of Prophet Yunus are new to the inhabitants of Ninawa. They can not accept it.
Moreover, the bearer of religious teachings is a stranger who is not from their class. During 33 years of preaching, Jonah only got two followers, Rubil and Tanukh. This made him very sad. He feels he has tried his best to bring the Ninawas to God. However, the teachings he conveyed did not stir up their hearts. This situation makes Jonah despair. He thought that there was no hope for the Ninavas to be able to believe in God One day Jonah was preparing to bring provisions to leave the Niwana.
Before leaving them, Prophet Jonah warned of impending doom if they did not immediately repent. "O Ninawas, in fact I warn you that if you still worship what you worship today, God will bring down a very painful punishment upon you, so quickly repent, May God forgive you all." That was the last cry out of Jonah's mouth. With a heavy heart, Jonah also stepped out of the Ninawa area. The Recitation of the Ninavas At first, Yunus's departure was greeted with joy by the Ninavas. They feel no longer getting a nuisance from the Prophet Yunus. However, after a while, the Ninawas began to see alarming signs. They saw a very thick black cloud begin to cover their area little by little. The longer, the cloud finally covered their sky. Things get very dark. They can not see anymore, except with the help of the fire they make. The situation continues.
There was no sign of the dark cloud disappearing. In the midst of enormous concern, the inhabitants of Ninawa remembered Jonah's words. They began to think that Jonah's appeal was the truth. They are even more worried when realizing this incident is a punishment from Allah. Then some of them said, "Truly what happened to us is our own fault, Jonah has invited us to the truth, but we ignore it, now we will bear our faults and folly.
" "If so, why do not we look for Jonah and accept his invitation right now?" one other's suggestion with enthusiasm. Begin their search for Jonah to all places in Ninawa. They sought Jonah in the hope that God would not punish them. After a while, they have not yet found Jonah. In fact, they have been looking for it all over the place. Finally, they stop the search. "We've been trying to find Jonah to all these places in Ninawa, but he seems to have gone and left us.What should we do?" said one resident of Ninawa with concern.
"Jonah is gone, but we must repent to God, let us together repent and build a better life, no more in doing vile and harmful acts, may Allah forgive us all and not punish us, "invite one of the Ninawak leaders. Finally, all the inhabitants of Ninawa repented to God. They together abandon their sinful deeds. A teardrop of regret spilled on Ninawa. God's forgiveness comes out of their mouths sincerely. Allah witnessed the sincerity of Ninevans in repentance. God also accepts their repentance and forgives all their mistakes. Then, the dark clouds that overshadowed the Ninawa region gradually began to disappear along with the attitude of the Ninawas who abandoned their immorality. Life in Ninawa was back to normal, even better than before.
Allah has raised the punishment of the Ninavas because of the consciousness of its inhabitants to believe in God. God then gave His gift to them for a long time. Meanwhile, the prophet Jonah kept on walking. He wanders up the mountain, down the mountain, aimlessly. Unwittingly, he arrived at a beach. He saw a group of people rushing to board a ship. He asked the shipowner to be allowed to participate with other passengers. After getting permission, he immediately boarded the vessel. Not long ago the ship sailed in the ocean, big waves and strong hurricanes came. The entire inhabitants of the ship became panicked. The ship's captain reminds the passengers that based on tradition, when a violent storm strikes a ship, it denotes a passenger who has committed a major sin. The captain staged a draw to find passengers who had committed a major sin. In the draw for the third time in a row, Yunus's name continues to come out. The prophet Jonah who noticed when the draw was made to feel that the lottery decision was God's will. He also realized that he had committed sins by abandoning Ninawas before obtaining God's permission. With a willing heart, Jonah threw himself into the sea. Then, God revealed to a whale to swallow it round. Immediately, the condition of the sea became calm again. The ship can continue its journey. While in the belly of the whale, Jonah felt sad. He asks God to forgive him for the sin and wrongdoing he has done.
After several days in the belly of the whale, Jonah was thrown from the fish's mouth to the beach in a thin, weak, and sick state. However, with God's grace, where he was stranded, a pumpkin tree that shaded Jonah with leaves. Prophet Yunus was able to enjoy the fruit. After the Prophet Jonah was healed, God ordered the return of preaching to Ninawa. What a surprise the Prophet Yunus when entering Ninawa. He met the people who once opposed his teachings, now have become pious and worship of God. Prophet Yunus was very grateful to God. He with the Ninavas united to build and improve the country in a better direction. In several books and books, there is no mention of the genealogy of the Prophet Jonah. The moral message of the Islamic Children's Story - The story of Jonah's Prophet is the Prophet Yunus also a human being who has a deficiency.
He never experienced despair. God gave him a clear warning. Allah hates him by throwing him into the sea. As an adult person, should the Prophet Yunus not despair. There is, however, a wisdom, that we may always be patient in accepting trials.
