Story: Good and Bad times of a relationship

After a marriage of about fifteen years, Lisa gradually grew old. Harry had been a dedicated husband providing food and basic necessities to her and their child during this period. Their relationship was beyond perfect. But sometimes all relationships go through pitfalls and this one did too. Quite some time after their anniversary Harry started to be out later than usual. It was normal for Lisa because her husband was a very passionate man, particularly in terms of work.

Once or twice a year his business had to be audited and that would be a particularly rough time for him. Lisa, however, used to show support to her husband no matter what. But this time, the late nights were not coming to a halt, so Lisa became a little suspicious.

One day she decided to go by his office and see for herself how her husband was still loyal to her and had been genuinely busy with work. After a long debate with herself, Lisa finally admitted that she had felt some suspicion on the part of her husband’s behaviour. So she made the children sleep and headed for his office.

To her surprise, her husband was not present at that time. Lisa tried calling Harry but he did not receive it. After a few calls she went home, rather disappointed in him. That night Harry did not come home at all. Lisa had spent all night crying and praying to Lord that everything should be alright.

In the morning, the door bell rang and it was her husband. He told Lisa that he wanted to talk to her. He broke the news to her that he had been cheating on her with her best friend and that he wanted a divorce. It was particularly heartbreaking for Lisa to listen to this because she had blind trust in her husband and this was a shocker for her. She agreed on the divorce on one condition. That every day for the next month, Harry would have to carry her from the main door to her room the same way that he did on the first day of her marriage. It was a strange request but he agreed to it. For the sake of the fifteen years of their marriage. Every day their child would look at his father carrying his mother to her room and that would make him very happy.

As time passed he noticed that her health was deteriorating but he did not give any notice to it as he was excited for his new marriage and a new life ahead. On the last day, he gracefully laid her on bed. Lisa closed her eyes and never opened them again.

On the side table lay her reports. Lisa had been suffering from cancer and she had decided to let their child have good memories of her. What a way to die.
